Hey Guys

Just wondering, after your vehicle has been complied and been through the necesary inspections (Regency inspections etc) im assuming after that its just a matter of going into motor registration paying for rego and then youre good to go, but is there a time frame you have from after you compliance to when you have to take it in to get rego.

Thanks in advance :worship:

Iron Chef is probably best fit to answer this question, and since you're using him as your agent, just send him an email.

Regency Park is tough, so what I'd imagine will happen on your car (seeing the pictures from trade car view) is they'll knock it back and give you a list of things to fix. Basically you fix those things and bring it back.

Like I said, Iron Chef will straighten all this out, but hopefully I've started you on the right track.

The compliance workshop will give you a CIN (Consumer Information Notice), which does have a date and signature on it. Some VicRoads are under the impression that it expires 30 days after signing, others don't care. Your workshop can just issue you a new one if it does expire though, so it's not a big deal.

cheers,

David @ Carizma

lol, cheers Dave - you're pretty much on the money.

Paul, no need to worry about it - the workshop doing your compliance will take it through Regency for you. All you need to worry about it paying the cash.

But for everyone else's benefit, Regency will go through every item on the CIN and check that it's been done for first registration. It's not just a "ID-check-and-away-you-go" type thing. They are extremely anal, and cars that sail through registration in other states (Qld especially) often get pinged here.

Virtually every interstate workshop I know has a horror story of relying on SA customers to "do the right thing" and remove all after market parts, the customer thinking that "stock standard" just means "road legal", and Regency having a field day on both of their arses.

    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
