Hi all. My girl friend has a old 1978 c210 :) . she has had it for many years and had to put a new motor in it, it now has a l28 motor in it, from the numbers in the block and head it seems that the motor come from a 1983 280zx turbo. (thats just from the info i found on the net) I have all the efi stuff like inlet manifold, ecu, ect. i have been doing some thinking and want to hook the efi up and maybe put a turbo on it. any one here know any thing about hooking up the efi and where i could look to find turbo manifold?

Thanks.

Hi, I have a good mate with a turbo'ed L20 C210, and it goes like the clappers. There was a turbo manifold on ebay this week, and they come up on the US ebay regularly as well. You will probably get the best turbo L28 advice from Ghostrider, he is in the middle of building one now.

Good luck with it, and let us know how it works out.

Hi, Thanks, I found that site last night and was having a bit of a read,

Im not sure i really under stand what they said to do, (R = Red = pin 5 from fuseable link to the dropping resistor power to injectors.

Y/L= Yellow blue power from pin 13 on the computer to pull relay in on fuel pump relay then black to earth.

L = Blue = pin 4 from a fuseable link to through the efi relay to pin 27 on the computer when the relay is activated by ignition on.

B/Y = Black Yellow = pin 2 from ignition switch start through to cold start valve and thermite switch then to computer pin 26.

B/W = Black White = pin 1 ignition switch run to ic ignition unit and coil.)

I will have a look today and see what i can work out.

and this

http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread....ed=1#post199389

and these pictures should help

The second picture shows how I wired my late model MR30 EFI, it has a rectangle plug, where as the diagram shows the earlier MR30 EFI (using a square plug)

So i need to get the fues box from the r30 with the fuel pump relay and efi relay and fues block?

Yes it would help

It could be done without it, but I used it to make it easier, and since I had a MR30 as a donor, I could use all the bits I needed.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
