Would look quite smart on the V35 in Silver, which is what they are on, correct? Good work, where did you get the car? 350GT-ATE
No, it's a unique wheel that rare to see on any car in Australia, let alone a V35! Those wheels are worth a fair bit IMO it's one of the few best looking JDM wheels that suits a V35, and not common as TE37's/GT-C's etc. Good pick! rs73
Rare can be good (exclusivity for your pride n joy) but can be real bad if it ever got damaged. Just don't hit a pothole and bent one of them... you'll probably have a very hard time finding replacement, and may cost a lot of money especially replacing one usually means buying brand new from the manufacturer/authorised dealer. If that ever happens you might as well get it repaired locally if it's repairable but it's not gonna be cheap, it can be more expensive than buying another used set from Japan, depending on the amount of damage done. I've just imported a set of 19" from Japan n the shipping cost alone (on top of rim price) is $900+ via EMS, coming in 4 separate boxes. Just to give you a ball park figure what's it's gonna cost if you ever have to replace one or two of those rims. Nice combo of aftermarket parts, but be prepare to find std parts, might cost you a bit more to comply with all those aftermarket parts as they're not suppose to be compliable with those parts on... unless you can find a rather 'dodgy' workshop. The good news is another friend is bringing one in on the same ship so hopefully it will work out. I tried finding out a bit about the impul chip with no luck. Do you think i will notice a difference in performance with this cpu and exhaust system. I.e dyno tune 180rw?? rs73
No idea. but I heard they're like a fixed tune ECU so you won't be able to do anything much with it, and I doubt you'll find anyone locally who knows how to tune it, and not sure what local fuel will do to the ECU mapping which was mapped (perhaps aggresively) based on Japanese 100-octane fuel. I was considering getting one from japanparts.com, but after a rather sketchy email conversation with a Japanese salesperson in broken English about having to bring the car to Nissan dealer for some kind of immobiliser registration, it sounds like a very complicated thing just to get the ECu to fire up the engine, let alone to have it tuned locally, so I decided not to touch any such ECU from Japan. I hope the car will start I am sure it will, just make sure you use good fuel and maybe watch (and listen) what you are doing for a while. A bottle or 2 of Octane booster might help in the early days too. 1 dyno tune (run) on a cool day, will also help. rs73
If it's already on the car from Japan it might be easier because the Japanese owner would have had done the immobiliser bit at a Japanese Nissan Dealer. If you're trying to fit one on a car that's already here you won't be so lucky as I don't think the local Nissan dealer would care about an import. Stephen Thorpe
Im wondering if i should sell these wheels before anything goes wrong. i.e pot hole gutter marks. Not sure where you are, but most wheels can be reapaired a mate had 2 18's repaired (bent on inside) for $100ea, from a place that Bob Jane deals with. The place was in Melbourne and they did a good job, if there was a requirement to have cosmetic damage fixed the price could be a lot more but the dent was quite considerable. I wouldn't rush to change them... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/239140-anyone-seen-these-wheels-before/#findComment-4178427 Share on other sites
