Tuesday Morning Drift Sessions @ Queensland Raceway

Next year, in 2009 I have organised a number of Tuesday Morning Drift Sessions and currently have 5 dates booked in throughout the year roughly 1-3 months apart from each other.

The first of which is on Tuesday the 13th of January 2009. Gates open at 7:30 and we will be on track from 8am and finished up by 12pm, with all pit bays empty by 12:30pm in time for the afternoon session. We will be running the Driftorama circuit for the first 2 hours and for the remaining 2 hours we will run the turn 2-dipper track layout and the turn 3-6 track layout.

The cost will be $120 per person, and I have chosen to employ the services of the track paramedic if needed for the morning and will have tow cars on hand also. All payments must be in by Sunday the 4th of January. Please PM me for bank details and any other information please.

Method of payment will be via direct debit or paid in cash to me. No refunds will be given unless the day is called off, however you can sell your spot to someone else if something goes wrong but it is your responsibility to do so and you need to let me know who is taking your spot before the day.

There will be a barbecue afterwards (from 12:30pm) on the grassed area next to the canteen for all drivers, friends and spectators, $1 for a can of soft drink and $1 for a sausage on bread. Make sure you come and have a chat and get to know everyone.

The future dates booked in are:

24th of February

14th of April

3rd of June

21st of July

29th of September

**Note all of these dates are Tuesdays**

If you have any questions can you please PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can.

Cheers,

Steven Lewis

What would be the most amount of people able to go on a day? Obviously I'm thinking of how much track time to a $ value based on the amount of cars as a large factor in wether or not I'd go.

Also stupid question, thats $120 per day correct?

hey.

so i have a few questions.

if u want to learn how to drift, but dont trust being on track with other cars,

are there any events that include rookies??

or are there any specific 'learn to drift' events? and if not, how do we get that going?? :D

lol

ciao

Yeah $120 per day mate, prices in future may go down if i find i have enough consistent interest.

At the moment im thnking 50 will be my max, i dont know how well i will go at getting that many people anyway. Theres normally 70-80 guys on tack on a friday night so its definately better than that. The guys ive got helping me run the day have done it before and some work most friday night practices so it should run smoothly.

These days are designed for people wanting to have a go at drifting, its a morning of drifting, no competition, just a day to hone your skills and have fun. There will be ample space between you and other cars on the track and if your really worried let the marshall running the start line know and they can give you more of a gap.

Cheers, Steve.

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
