32gtr 4wd Light, Isthere A Workshop/specialist Arround Dandenong Or A Bit Further

Recommended Posts

hey guys iv got the 4wd light on,on my 32gtr.i wana take it to a workshop/specialst that can fix the problem.is there anyone in dandenong area or a bit further?

help much appreciated thanks guys

Racepace in Bayswater fixed mine,

There might be a leak in your power steering system, even a small one will trigger the light to comes on i think.

Racepace is booked til next year.dont wana wait.i wanted to get it fixed this week as i wanted to go to werribee/geelong this weekend but wanted it running normal.Anywere else i can try guys as i really wana fix this.

Are you experiencing any other problems apart from the light coming up?

Do the diagnostic and see what the problem is and go from there.

Edit: Check the amount of fluid in the reservoir in the boot, right hand side there is a panel (opposite to where the jack is stored on the left). Could be low, but only fill it up with 'Nissan matic-D special blend trans fluid.'

Diagnostic should be as simple as,

1. Park the car by the road side (when the light has come on). Do not turn it off.

2. Open the boot.

3. Look at the underside of the ATTESSA computer & count the number of times the light flashes. It will flash for anything up to 20 odd times before stopping for a few seconds.

4. Remember the number then look it up in the workshop manual.

5. Then follow the diagnostic/repair procedure as detailed there.

Guy any were else re customs is bookd for ages, need to go some were asap even if sum1 wnts to come have a look is welcome.

Give Amberley Autos in Dandenong a try. I took my R33 GTR there when my ABS/4WD lights were coming on. They have diagnostic equipment to check error codes etc.

amberley autos.they said they do that diagnostic thing just resets some code but not 100% if error will come up.and there booked also.does anyone wana help me try bleed the thing maybe give that a shot.any1 else i can try guys???

Why dont you do what the other guy posted by diong a diag and checking in the book whats wrong with it????Im not suprised no one has offered to directly help as you can only help those that help themselves

the way i read it it looked like 2,8,9 .i dont think its would be the abs as it has been taken out b4 i got it and i have the car for 8months and 4wd problem only started last week.

does any1 know some one that works after hours or even at home that can have a look whats wrong and fix the problem???

well if the abs was taken out that would explain 8 and 9, number 2 might be the issue.

mines had the abs module taken out, and it occasionally gets code 8 and 9 as well.

yer but as i was saying iv had it for 8months and its never been a prob, how did you fix your problem cejay

Well can't really fix 8 and 9 without putting the abs back in. I normally turn the car off and restart it if it's just 8 and 9, I'd try and ask a specialist about your other error code. I have an intermittent problem as well myself but its a different code, in my case it was a g sensor related issue.

so isnt there anyway of getting my 4wd to work even with those errors no abs wires we can cut to stop getting the errors or some kinda short cut to get my 4wd workn till i take it some were?

wouldn't have a clue, just know that my 4wd does work even though I have no abs actuator etc (occasionally it doesn't but normally it's due to another error code) don't know why it's working best to take it to someone who knows more about the system.

    • Not sure the US can import anything other than the C34 Stagea's, but if you can and you need to to tow, DO NOT under any circumstances get an M35 Stagea. If it is just as a family car and your country/state allows it, absolutely and definitely get an M35 (3.5L if possible as it is effectively a 350Z) over a C34.
    • Punch your VIN (nm35-xxxxxx) into Amayama.com You can see everything there quite easily.
    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
