Hi All, Bought a 97 Gts-t II from Regan at DC imports last month. Car is totally standard at the moment but will be looking at the usual stuff after xmas:

List so far:

Exhaust & hi-flo cat

CIA

Boost upgrade

lowering

Car is awesome and I love the way it drives but the brakes seem really crap....is this normal? thinking new discs, pads and fresh fluid might help.

anyway I'm really enjoying a car I've always wanted to own!

Welcome and enjoy the SAU site Alan.

Yes, changing the brake fluid is a good start, since it absorbs water over time/standing still.

Talking about fluids, I'd flush out the old Japanese coolant as well, lest the Jap water corrode the radiator etc.
