Guest CleanAndSimple
First off ill apolagise for starting a new thread. heslo
If you are as picky as me, I'd be budgeting atleast around $8000 for a full respray. Means all windows come out, all new seals etc. Some good workshops around... All Type Crash I've heard good things about, I use and SWEAR by All Make Crash. Had a very bad experience with one of the "big" workshops here in SA, I won't name them but I definately wasn't impressed with their workmanship. End of the day, it all comes down to how deep your wallet is and just what you consider a "good job" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/253273-respray/#findComment-4377429 Share on other sites
Luke_ENR34
How much money u got to spend? Would u wanna sand back the car yourself? resprays can range from 3k to 12k My recommendation is Edwardstown custom body repairs if u got the money to spend. Or if u wanna sand it all back yourself my mate who works there might be able to do a cashy on the side. Guest CleanAndSimple
i consider a good job being, when the sun hits it, u cant see tiny little dots everywhere in the paint. willing to spend about 3k (Wondering what i would get for around that) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/253273-respray/#findComment-4377430 Share on other sites
Luke_ENR34
yeah 3k wont get you much these days, as with an old car like a 33 things are usually perished or very fragile when you remove them, and tend to break. Even materials along cost abit, sand paper, prepsol, primer, paint, clear, nuts/bolts everything has to be taken into account. heslo
Like Luke said, for 3k you won't get much... My saying is, if you are gonna do it, you might as well do it properly. Imagine how pissed you'd be spending 3k only to get a finish you aren't happy with? Money down the drain isn't it, and back to square one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/253273-respray/#findComment-4377442 Share on other sites

Mowbuss
Old car? try owning a 31 lol. I suggest SA Chassis at mile end. Great guys who do quality work. They usually do work on classics, but im sure they could work you in if your have the $$$ to spend. Carbon 34
do you really need a respray or a really good detail? Chris#3
Although I haven't had any experience with them Tom Howard did a good job of colour matching the orange/gold pearl when Flick got the fibreglass guards painted. Tom Howard did a good job colour matching part of the underbody with my side panels and All Type Crash... I'm not too keen on going back there. cruzin33
This is from another thread, im to lazy to re-write it If you are after a full respray its gana cost you around 8-10k. If you take out the motor and interior and prep that in 2pac primer it will be around 5k. If your good with a spray gun i would paint the engine bay, cabin and door jams in the colour you want and that will be around 2-3k to finish the job. If your good with body work i would take it further and prep the outside in 2pac primer and that will be around 1k to paint the outside. these are prices from some of Adelaide best places Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/253273-respray/#findComment-4378133 Share on other sites
RubyRS4
Daniel Stone at Hackham is fair priced and he does an excellent job. He's done jobs on my cars Yes, he's an old riding buddy of mine, so I'm a bit biased anyway Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/253273-respray/#findComment-4378413 Share on other sites

RubyRS4
Don't think he does powdercoating ... not that I was aware he had the equipment. Looked at that link, the map is slightly incorrect. His 'shed' is at the right hand bend of Chapman Road on the left ... furthest shed in the corner of the lot. There is a chroming specialist next door to him.
