R31 Series Iii Auto Into R31 Series I Vehicle?

Hey all! Just fitted a motor and box from a series III r31 into my series I r31.

I have identified the wires from the selector switch with little problem, which is to say the car starts, the reverse lights work, and it knows when it's in neutral. However. . .

1.) The car has only 2nd and 3rd gears working, and I'm guessing some line pressure issues to soon fry or glaze my clutches?!

2.) The wires from 1st and 3rd have no home in the vehicle that I can find (the original gearbox had these wires too, but they have no mate at the plug end of things).

3.) I have little clue what the other wires from the box specifically are or what they do, or which ones are a necessity. I'm guessing there's a couple for kick back, probably three for a map sensor, a couple for the OD, and probably a couple more for the electronic torque converter lock up. The rest I would hazard a guess are for input to the gearbox's ecu (I hope not, and if so, I hope I can do without it).

I'm not concerned about the niceties of modulating line pressure too much, and am happy enough to run full pressure all the time. I can probably hook the converter lock up to the OD switch, etc.

If anyone could provide me with the information I need, like a wiring diagram/schematic for either or both series I and III, I would be very much appreciative. This information can also include; is the series III gearbox actually any stronger than the series I gearbox? ie, should I just put that back in?

i have a S3 that i blew the auto in and put a S1/2 auto trans in instead. imo the S3 box is shit.

in order to make that fit i had to run a S1/2 loom (basically the enitre loom except the engine loom) also the trans cooling lines are different and i had to put a tap in the manifold because the early auto is vaccume fed.

personally id just put another S1/2 auto in it.

      Maybe of interest, a little while ago I spoke to one of the guys from Rajab Racing Developments and he hinted to me they could be developing a new cast exhaust manifold. Incidentally, they have already made one for the barra and it looks functional

      So Bathurst coming up so really need to get this new ECU in. I regret going to flex fuel and all the headaches associated with DBW with cruise etc....a miss the simplicity of Power Fc   I make enough power that I should have just gone back to 98 but...anyway Turns out with the std inlet I cant really go any bigger than 60mm DBW so wasnt able to play with that aspect of the update.

When we leave the parking lot, we'll head down Australia Ave, and turn right onto Homebush Bay Drive at the large roundabout near DFO.
