Today its has been announced that a 10 year agreement has been reached and signed off by both the Springnats PTY/ LTD and the Rural City of Murray Bridge for the Murray Bridge Autofest to be staged each Australia Day Weekend in Murray Bridge S.A. for the next ten years.

Mr Adams stated that this is a major decision and a huge step forward for our sport/hobby and goes to show the strength of Street Machining is finally having within our communities. Unlike most similar events around Australia Mr Adams has concentrated on having events within a community rather than race tracks and the like, he explains that all of the Springnats and Autofest events are held within each of the Cities visited and thus keeps them well and truly in the public eye where any sport needs to be.

Other Cities that Springnats and Autofest events are held include, Corowa NSW Feb 28^th to March 1^st 2009, Mount Gambier S.A.Oct 31^st to November 1st 2009 and Shepparton Vic. November 27^th to 29^th 2009. It is hope that similar agreements can also be made at these Cities to continue the longevity of Street Machining and the Modified car industry as a whole.

The Rural City of Murray Bridge Mayor Allan Arbon reiterated the event organiser’s remarks and welcomed the commitment by the event promoters. This has enabled Murray Bridge to establish the weekend on promotional calendars and websites which in turn has boosted the accommodation industry’s long term bookings.

The Dates for the 2010 Murray Bridge Autofest are January 23^rd and 24^th
