Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

I'm sure they were more than adequate for a pansi in a capri :)

Yes, they are great on 4 cyclinder light weight cars - that's why I recommended them. But pansy... them's fightin' words negro :(

further comments:

RE001s are probably a great tyre, but would be much more expensive yeah?

KU36s will probably wear pretty fast, since they are pretending to be a semi slick

I heard the KU36 last around 20000km so thats out of the question. RE001s are freaking exp. Got a friend that just got them for around 290 per tyre fitted + they use some fancy gas to make it lighter (nitrogen maybe?). RE050As are close to 400 each fitted.

Tas: I believe KU36 can be compared to Evos if not RSR. Very good reviews from users on the forum.

All these prices are for 215/45/17s.

Two track days on a GTR is my bet

I guy at the last track day had them on his track spec WRX. Could'nt stop cursing about what a rubbish tyre they were and how they should never have been sold to him as a semi slick. My humble pintara was quicker than him :)

He said they'd be going off for the next track day, so there you go, 1 track day on a WRX :(

1.3 tonne on 215s :S Dayum. my SS have got close to 20k kms on them now and no sign of wear. I think I'm losing my mind though because everytime I look at the car I swear there is more neg camber on the front. Paranoia because I did all the camber arms myself keep thinking I've f**ked something up lol.

Fair call, they're probably more than adequate for the VW too.

But you're still a pansy :(

Damn i'd be happy with 20k out of ANY tire. I'd expect more like 10 out of KU36s

I think the Evos compare to the KU31 actually and the RSR compares to KU36.

Both RSR and KU36 are soft road tyres being called semi slicks by dodgy marketing departments

FYI: $550 fitted ea for 4x Toyo R888's 18/225

how much for 18/265 :)

My pintara ways sh*tloads more than that and it was rocking 215s for ages

True shit. 215s just seem like such a tiny tyre lol. I spose its no worse than the 2.5 tonne falcodores with their 235/245 ling longs on em.

Where from? what about 215/45 and 235/40 in 17?

Place out on the bay. I reckon if we all went there to buy the toyo's we wanted, they'd do us a deal dispite being different size's

Not very light if you asked me. The spec sheet says close to 1.3tonne... only 200kg light than mine.

they must be heavier now - last i saw they were 1130, which is 100 more than the capri.

but still - i usually think in terms of a falcon being 1.7 tonnes... i consider that to be a heavy car (without getting into utes and crap) so 400k less is a pretty big difference... but either way

it sells tyres bitch lol. But yeah I wouldn't put rsrs or ku36s on a beetle. overkill.

I think you must be stupid to do that. I cant justify the wearing on such a car. I want something that'll last for 40000km!

The stock tyres are 195/55/16 if you're interested in knowing. Its around 1250kg to make it even more accurate.

The threads on mine still look good after around 5000km. Hopefully it'll last me another 20000km... hahaha.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
