Oh really ?

Maybe its how both of us roll  ?

Hey Whitey said that sparkles was getting some head work done ? ? ?

Yeah apparently. But he needs cams and springs and no one makes cams in the duration they want and still be able to retain VCT. You can bolt in aftermarket GTR cams but then you gotta ditch the VCT. Unless you install an ECAM system by ERD :)

Anyway, I'm off to work! I got a Silvia with a twin turbo RB25 rockin up at 7

Yeah I thought it would be too but it just arrived 10 minutes ago and it is looking like the worst piece of engineering I have seen in a while. The twins have been done nicely but the rest of it is hell messy. The fuel system and boot battery are neat but engine bay...yuk. It serves a purpose though, I guess. And with over 600hp at the wheels it serves it well.

It's Josh's old car btw

Where the heck have you been ?

What time do you call this ?

Sheesh

I've been sleeping! Getting the best night's sleep I've had in ages! Slept from about 9 - 7, was great!! That's the most consecutive sleep that I've had all year.

He's coming this saturday for the dyno, else there'll be more cupping.

MORE cupping? We never got the originally promised cupping.

you know, if you drift on a track, there are far fewer things to hit... entry fee for drifting has gotta be cheaper than replacing rims and control arms from you being stupid on the street..

+1. Last thing we need is more idiots getting hooning and skylines associated.

FFS, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK PEOPLE!

Fingers crossed, and wood touched (but that is more to do with the fine young redhead on castle than your car )

Hey hey hey com on now I showed and offered but had no takers

PS. This new cupping rumor is nuthin but that. Ive learnt my lesson and therefor will never promise cupping again :)

Thanks ;) And great minds think alike.

My car is red. Redhead. Contemplated calling it Molly... until I remembered I'm going to paint it lol.

OUTRAGEOUS!

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
