I mang in the office mang. Bashing head against keyboard styles :)

@Colin: I may be able to drive the GT-R to willowbank for the drags for ya :D

I also mang it up in the office.

A mang is... well webster's dictionary defines it as...

umm...

It's a cool word though mang

Gramlight 57d got those fluoro colours and they're pretty affordable.

gramlights affordable? ;)

With the R33 I'd be going for a 5 or 6 spoke rim. LMGT4, TE37, GTCs or go for mesh rims like BBS LMs or Work VS-XX

In other news the unit now has power :) Only phone n internets to sort out now. Win.

Yes. Not all Gramlight but the specific design I'm suggesting. The 57d were quoted by Streeter

Gram Light 57D 18" x 9.5J +12 22,910yen eachRough costs on that would be something like this...

Cost of item ¥91,640

Ship item to me ¥0

Bank fee to pay seller ¥630

My commission ¥7,000

Removing 4 tyres ¥0

Shipping to Aus via Sea assuming 13 kg ¥31,200

* (I could be off with the weight but what ever it costs to send Ill

pass on to you)

ROUGH TOTAL in Yen: ¥130,470

ROUGH TOTAL: $1,875

Comparing to

TE37 in 18" x 10.5J +22 52390yen each

*this quote is based on sea post, they are over max size so there is

a change they might have to be sent by EMS.

Rough costs on that would be something like this...

Cost of item ¥209,560

Ship item to me ¥0

Bank fee to pay seller ¥630

My commission ¥14,000

Removing 4 tyres ¥0

Shipping to Aus via Sea assuming 12 kg x4 ¥29,800

* (I could be off with the weight but what ever it costs to send Ill

ROUGH TOTAL in Yen: ¥253,990

ROUGH TOTAL: $3,649

*depending on exchange rate. current rate is 72.9

These would be a lot cheaper with the current exchange rate sitting around 85?

I got told today theres a high chance of me heading up to site either in Jan or Feb.... WOOOOOooooo COILOVER HERE I COME!

Dudeman why dont u just get a job on a mine site and then you can earn sweet moneys ?

Nah dw Martin I think it's probably better my car doesn't go the drags. The noises the gearbox is making atm are pretty disgusting. Another thing on the list for while its off the road.

Yeah but those gramlights are pretty gay. If you're going to have them you have to have the 57 Pros.

All the arse rape puts me off working in the mines.

I wanna know the design part of things rather than operational for starters. And I'll need the commission experience if I wanna go down the path I'm planning.

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
