very interesting,

what sort of time frame/cost?

He's been very good when i've used him - worked out a suitable time for him to come have a look and then he does the plate on the spot.

Cost - nfi. He gives me cheap cheap price coz I'm an old customer, but his prices are very reasonable compared to other mod platers.

Cheaper if you can get the car to him, he charges a little more if he comes to you.

ps loved the love you gave my thread :P

Thought you might :)

P.S. have you seen that KFC add where they talk about a chick called "Katie 180"? I lol'd

Got on that draw! They are gonna lose a bit of play to rain and the pitch will improve as opposed to get worse like usual. I still cant beleive we batted the bloody wicket had branches growing out of it....well not quite but i bet its been a while since anyone played a test on a wicket that looked like that

Never done this before but um.... FIRST...

Scrapage and I think it's fkd up and out of alignment completly....

On another note, this question goes out to colin mcranga and anybody in general I guess but besides the obvious are there any known common faults on 32 gtr's and ownership of one. I'm talkin about only a lightly modified one here... (obvious problems being the engine ready to fkn die on me and a fkd gearbox/clutch)

I'd budget for an engine rebuild if you are going to buy one because they are getting old now and stuff will break. I still think a standard gtr will be reliable if you're only using it for normal driving maybe a bit of a weekend thrash. Mine is still going strong after a year of daily driving and about 45000kms. Just regular services every 5 - 7500kms.

Hi im here to not contrubute to SAU

How was everyones festive season! To sum up my holidays, I am now offically PS3 addicted, can no longer drink Glenfiddich (nearly vomited just saying it), Dan now has a very tidy and ordered workshop and the gympie skidpan now has a new water pipe that is not half full of mud so all corners of the pan get wet! And getting i a pool after 8 hours of shovelling and jackhammering is maybe the greatest thing you will ever experience.

Feels like I have actually worked harder this holidays than i ever did at work!

PS3 ftw. Tekken 6 mashing buttons is the most fun I've had in awhile.

Budget on a rebuild with the GTR, Mine was as well looked after as any and it spun a bearing just because it was old and worn out, you might get lucky but the odds are you wont and it would be a shame to break it then not be able to afford to fix it. Other things to look out for are attessa systems that are clogged up and barely work, get Dan to flush it and give it the treatment he gave mine and it will trasform the car, all of a sudden the slow attessa lable that R32 GTRs get lumped with seems a little misguided. Cracked rotors are somthing to look out for as they really hammer the front brakes and the syncro for 3rd gear is often fubar and a sign that it has copped some abuse in a past life. Look for worn upper control arm bushes chances are any one you come across these will be on the way out so budget on getting those fixed. they are also pretty good at getting rust up under the rear guards and also check under the boot carpet as they can leak around the tail lights and fill the spare wheel well with water

As for ownership....they are an awesome car i spent a fortune on my r32 with a 25 and was never happy with it. First drive of the GTR just felt so much better as it had a little more power, better powerband and the ability to put it to the road anytime i wanted. The down side of ownership is complexity, any work you do on it (except changing sparkplugs ;) ) will take a lot longer! They also use tonnes more fuel, at 315rwkw is was getting 550km mixed driving from a tank in my GTST...in the GTR it would have been lucky to get 400

What he said.

he got taste B) ha ha

sweet thanks :P

I'll give some thought as to whether I want to attack it or not

orly? I expect it to be very overrated when I see it... but maybe I will be wrong

not really in a rush, still got my boost gauge to chuck in, 3 other gauges (backlights arent working) and for some reason my car alarm (horn) isn't going off when the alarm is on.. i just thought $100/hr is pretty expensive..

    • 9" wheels are a little too wide for a RWD 32. They can fit. People have put R33 GTR wheels on 32s for years and years. But they are a very tight squeeze. This has been known for about 30 years. As I said - there is no difference between a 17 and an 18 in terms of what will fit. The rolling diameter needs to stay about the same as stock - not very much larger. If you increase that, you will start to have problems. If you increae rolling diamater at the same time as yo increase width, you will have problems earlier. as 9" wheels are pushing the boundaries already, you would need to be careful with tyre choice. I would put 8.5s on the front of mine, but would expect problems with 9s.

    • Diagnostic flow for a code 21 says check signal at the ECU pins, on a voltmeter of some kind it should read 0.1V at idle, 0.12V cranking, 0.15-0.25V at 2000 rpm. Check each coil such that +1, -3 is infinite or very high resistance, -3, +2 should do the same. (-1, +3), (+3, -2), (+1, -2), and (-1, +2) should all be somewhere between 0 ohms and high resistance. If you trace the path from the coil pin all the way back to the ECU in the diagram the resistance you measure at the coil vs connected to the harness should be pretty much the same.
    • I have an elite 2500 running an adapter harness on an rb25de neo r34. I took the butterfly out and removed all that junk. But I also went Plus+t at the same time. The butterfly thing works in reverse to the boost solenoid on the Gtt if that makes sense
    • yeh they are 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rears. I still didn't get my answer if i can fit a 18x9 up front. I want to get 4 of this and see if they will fit before committing as they didn't see an 18x8 as an option but there is a 18x9.5 also.   Enkei RS05-RR 18x9 35mm ET 5x114.3 75.0 Bore Matte Gunmetal Wheel
