And a heap of Golfs.

Yeah, but we already knew about them. The 370 I hadn't seen before.

orly? They pull you up or something?

Not me. They pulled up next to me at the lights at Rode Rd and Appleby Rd. Chatting away "hey, how's it going? Have a good night? Where you headed?" etc... and I was thinking "this guy is a bit... chatty... I hope it's not a cop because I have to go up that hill and my BOV is going to go off it's brain..." so the lights go green and the hero in the Hyundai coupe hits limiter, lays a massive skid and goes tearing up the road at about 90k through a 60 zone. Blue and red lights appear on the Z and I'm like :(

I took off slowly and limped up the hill so I didn't set off my BOV, when I got to the bottom he had the Hyundai pulled over and was getting out of his car with his little book of prizes. So I honked and waved goodbye and he waved back :(

...but yeah. Black 370Z hard top. Didn't see the plate because he was next to me, and then I couldn't see shit because of the flashing lights. Must be a Boondall or Strathpine one, so just be careful around Zeds.

So, finally figured out what is wrong with Jason's boost control set up.

What's wrong with this picture?

skinsboost.gif

Hint: Symptoms include infinity boost, and (I presume) BOV not working

I can't believe I didn't spot it when I looked last week, my excuse is I was drunk on JB :(

I'll let you all guess for yourselves which 'mechanic' is responsible for this quality work.

So am I right thinking it should go Boost Control > Wastegate > BOV? but it currently goes Wastegate > Boost Control > Bov?

direction is irrelevant.

HINT: IF there was a boost source direction would be slightly more relevant

Sensor in the plenum then where else do they read air flow from?

But either way the BOV shouldn't be connected to the boost controller. Ur diagram is showing the BOV as the boost source right? Which means it wouldnt be getting any data saying open the wastegate. So wastegate stays shut and you get 11ty billion boost right?

Does colin get a prize?

No worries mang.

So whats happening with you and the alphabet lady?

Can't tell you... It's a secret :(

Jason's a flamin mongrel.

You love me really

I know this, but it is relevant why?

Because I'm awesome

No

Yes I farkn am... don't make me slap you

draw some direction lines on ur diagram then negro

It was a awesome diagram though :(

Hey ladies.

REgarding your l337 MS Paint 5k1llz Y0, you forgot to show the connection between the BOV, horn and the indicator fluid level sensor.

So you're all ghey......ah I mean wrong. Worng as in a bit fact guy with a bear touching himself whilst watching a Maria Carey video in nothing but a pizza stained singlet.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
