You work in Broome ? Man that would be a killer drive from ipswich

Bahahahaha, na. Looking at getting a job in the mines over in WA but lol.

I thought Isola was saying you were working in Broome. Anyway lol

No fuel = no driving of the gtr.

Foot falcon ? :ninja:

Nah mate John doesn't work in Broome neither.

Well normally this is the case.

But I lost my job the other week (dam probabationary periods of 6 months, even though I was an apprentice for 4 years before hand :ninja: gotta admit, laughing at the boss when he sacked me and watching his face get really red and the look that he wanted to punch me was good enough reason to loose my job. lol Well thats what you get when you got it in for someone).

So no job = no money coming in and a fark load going out lol. No money coming in = no money to spare for fuel for the gtr. No fuel = no driving of the gtr. No driving of the gtr = me very pissed off :) . Friends pay for fuel for me to drive around to cruise spots, etc = me happy :D . And I don't wanna screw that up lol. Gotta do what you gotta do

I'm an unemployed bum. I pay for my fuel. My car, my rules.

Yeah mang that must suck. My GTR hasnt been driven in 6 months and is not likely to see the road again before 2011 lol :ninja: Then again I shouldn't complain atleast mine runs unlike most GTRs that inhabit the random sheds around qld lol.

lol @ all of the above

Yeah but you get your slice of everyones tax to pay for that :). He wouldn't be able to get the dole yet would he?

So what your saying is we as taxpayers pay for his fuel ?

WTF is a fyp ?

I'm an unemployed bum. I pay for my fuel. My car, my rules.

I just wouldn't take my car out if my mates didn't offer to pay for some of the fuel as I don't have the money to pay for it at the moment.

Its not that I spung off them, but when I had a job I would pay for all the fuel every time we were out, shouted them god knows how many drinks, entry to places, etc and they are just saying that they are paying me back.

Even though this is the case, I still feel guilty for taking the money and so I let them decide where to go and what to do.

They are great mates and I don't wanna be out of work for a long time.

Hoping to have something within the next couple of weeks. So for the time been once a week they shout me fuel to take the car out because they enjoy been in it as much as I do and they don't have a car or licence of there own. So its a win for them to. Otherwise they don't get out much because of that either.

you bite way too easily :ninja:

Are you like a boiler maker or a mechanic is that why you want to get into the mines ?

Yeah but you get your slice of everyones tax to pay for that :ninja: . He wouldn't be able to get the dole yet would he?

Well I can't get the dole for another 2 weeks. Really don't wanna go on the dole so trying to save as much money as possible at the moment hense no cruises like I use to do. I hate relying on people to get my ass around and to do stuff. But as I said my mates said that they are happy to because when they had no money I was the one who would get them out of the house and help them out.

Ha ha ha I wasn't biting. Just saying why I don't pay for my fuel at the moment. lol

Yeah I'm a diesel fitter (truck/earth moving/gensets/boat/etc mechanic for those who don't know.) Pretty much big engines I play with.

Yes that is exactly what I'm saying :) fyp = fixed your post

It's fun though right :ninja:

What do you do for work? What apprenticeship have you just finished? And how far are you willing to travel lol

Yeah but you get your slice of everyones tax to pay for that :ninja:.

My bank account, my money.

And seeing as how I've never asked you for a cent for the past 6 months, it's not like it's really affecting you greatly is it?

I just finished as an automotive specialist - specialising in diesel fitting. (automotive specialist because i pretty much did truck engines and automatic transmissions for them)

Willing to travel around Brissy but probably not to the north side. Other than that I fly in fly out roster in the mines at the moment is what I'm looking at.

Ahwell too easy. If it was any other apprenticeship (sparky, plumber, chippy etc) I might of bin able to help out but we don't do much with diesal engines lol

Thanks anyway. What do you do for work anyway?

That's because you're not trying hard enough. Put it in the suggestion box tomorrow and see what happens.

I'm a Cadet/Site Engineer for Multiplex. Shit kicker basically but I know a lot of the bosses/project managers for all the subbies round the coast.

We have a massive twin turbo diesal generator in the basement. I'll take pics of it when I get my camera back. :ninja:

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
