iv got them on my car 2, looks like everyone has them then. However it seems like a good thing though as I can see a couple or spots that look like they have had a few stones thrown their way and the sticker has done its job and saved the paint and taken the impact. Silver paint FTW dosent stand out that much when the car is clean

I had taken off those stickers. Was an absolute pain to get the sticky stuff off. Dunno how I got off. I used a combination of wax, clay bar, this bur/tar remover and alot of elbow grease.

Half way through taking off the sticker...I thought I shouldnt have started...but is all good now.

My echo has those stickers as well...I hadnt taken it off but there are heaps of stone chips around the sticker!

ur lucky! haha

i'm might not have had any sticker but i've actually had other things go wrong with the V since i've bought it.

only had the V for about 5 months but have had to spend over $2k on it.

it's been good for the past couple of weeks but i'm dreading to think what will go wrong next.

spending 2k on FIXING it or spending to mod it? they are 2 different stories~

Got them and will ask the detailer in a few weeks to remove and polish that section up to match

White cars sometimes are the worst!

Hey Matt did you get to book in Mark from Dr.Detail? what did he say about your problem?

Im removing my sticker toms!

nah just fixing it

i would of loved to have spent that $2k on mods...fingers crossed i won't have any more problems

and while we're on the subject...

in the last 3 months....I've had 'fixed'....

Gearbox rebuild...$4000

Driver's door lock actuator $400

Fuel Flap/door motor $N/A (fixed myself from spares)

Battery $100

Passenger Power window motor $400

Clutch and Fly wheel (no, not part of the gear-box!) $1500

Brembo brake pads/rotors renewed $400

mmmmmm.......good farking thing I didn't have to pay for it!

Extended warranty really is a good thing.

Battery came out of my own pocket....fair enough.

He came and saw my car. Said the white ones come up great.

He said the problem was most likly the stuff is sticking to the car alot more than others because there is so many hills and vallys in the paint. I did get it off with the clay bar, but it was a stuggle.

Once the car is detailed and smooth, should be a breeze to wash.

Mark was great to talk with and i'll be booking it in very soon.

i bought privately so had to bear all the costs myself. Should of bought from a dealer as all the problems with the car would of been covered by warranty.

    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
    • With ordering the belt, you're doing water pump and the idler and tensioner at the same time too yes?
    • This is just a dumb way of keeping the wastegate closed to make more boost. Undo it and either follow the factory setup or redo it properly. Manual boost controllers just use a spring preload to determine when to close in response to boost pressure so it no longer vents to atmosphere.
