RIP to Mihn and hope the survivors pull thru. Life will never be the same again.

Hopefully a few lessons can be learnt from this tragedy.

I saw my two nieces yesterday (one 13, one 14) and I showed them the Sunday Mail article and sat down with them. They've always enjoyed their Uncle "Roo" visiting with his fast cars and bikes ... but this time I outlined to them how dangerous vehicles are and how easily things can go wrong. I'd be devastated if they were ever harmed in a road accident. I've seen enough horror crashes and enough death myself. The thought of something like this ever involving my family scares me. I can't even imagine what the parents from Friday night/Saturday morning's tragedy are going thru.

Those who have family coming of age to be driving soon ... don't shelter them from this kind of horror. Show them what can go wrong, and make sure they can protect themselves and make their own correct decisions in life.

Nasty, and pointless loss of life

For those of us left though we have a target on our collective Skyline backs of a size never seen before. The smiling cheesy front mount intercooler and piping on the front page of the Sunday Mail combined with the claimed 400hp+ from a Nissan GT400R and the highlight that the cars are the tools of death has ensured that Skyline drivers will be publicly persecuted with extreme prejudice. Whether it is some 'do gooder know nothing' with a pen and folder taking down your number and reporting you (as offered by members of the public in the Sunday Mail story), or the vengeance of SAPD which will now be even more carefully trained to be aware of/seek and destroy Skylines, the spotlight is now on us. These cars have been publicly branded "Killers" by Mike Ranns offsiders (the Sunday Mail, and Mal Hyde) and now we will have to pay the price. Dark days ahead for SA Skylines :bunny:

Cruises are something you will be able to tell the grandkids about. For those that doubt me, roll the dice and give Officer Neils boys a chance :(

Imagine their smiling SAPD faces on the cover of the Advertiser under a "Killing Spree" headline defecting impounding a group of 10-15 Skylines with innocent startled looking drivers on hand. The generally stupid and brainwashed public will see it akin as the coppers thwarting a mass murder :P

And once more RIP Minh....

couldn't agree more! the SAPOL will have their skyline blinkers on from now on, so people please exercise some common sense!!!! dont stuff it up for the rest of us.

mate i live in magill too and i must admit i have at times given my many lines a squirt down thru norton summit and the hills BUT i have never done something as stupid as hurtling down a main road in excess of 150 kph with other people in the car or not. again SAPOL will be on the hunt for any import driver who steps out of line, so to be short please dont act like an imbecile and give them even more of an excuse to brand us all as hoons. save it for the track!!! there are many clubs you can join to get access to track time.

    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
    • Thank you so much for the help
    • Yes it is ATF. I quote @Duncan "it takes a good synthentic auto trans fluid like Castrol Transmax Z" It's not a diff. It's a transfer case. Totally different thing. Yes, fluid will come out the sender hole. No you do not really need to drain it. Just pull the old, quickly poke the new, clean up and top up. But realistically, you should probably take the opportunity to change it anyway.
    • Hey all. I’m looking on replacing my speed sensor on my R33 GTR. Will the center differential need to be drained, and if so, the center diff uses ATF fluid D? I found information on the transmission, front diff and rear diff. Can’t find a for sure answer for the center diff. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    • I would tend to agree, especially based on the transfer oil being completely cooked by the sounds of it. I bet it was serviced every 5,000km... Which probably worked out to once every 15,000 real kms...
