Hi,

I've currently got an '95 r33 GTR with two HKS Pod Filters as you can see here http://home.austarnet.com.au/myra/gtr_filters.jpg . But as you can see its a litte tight with the custom aluminium radiator and HKS intercooler piping - but stock cooler. Basically I was looking at some form of shielding & maybe some sort of cold air induction setup. So I was looking at the UAS R33 GTR Air Box. As far as cold air induction goes I wouldnt mind some sort of snorkel :- eg R32 GTR Cold Air Induction Snorkel (fibreglass) but the only one UAS list is for the r32 (how much modification would this require? Wouldn't mind it if it saved me some trouble with making my own even with a little modification.

For cooling I guess you run to the bottom indicator intake.

So at the moment I'm looking at the carbon fibre UAS R33 GTR Air Box.

P.S. The filter foam in the pods is degrading so I was gonna replace it - looks like they are both 150mm => see pic. Can I replace these with the 200m foamies ??? it would be really tight.

P.P.S I was also buying a HKS exhaust cam gear - should i buy the intake one to go with it? to make the set?

Dont know a thing about the UAS stuff, personally I find it a bit expesive.

CAI, why not do the usual and get some 4" pipe and make a feed that comes in underneath the pods?

Then just either a partition or a box. If you are willing to spend the sort of mony UAS are asking, why not get a custom box made - or have a go your self?

As for filters, I would imagine that it would be easier to buy the 150mm replacements, otherwise you may find yourself cutting down the 200's, which also would not be difficult to do. Just trace around the old filter and get into it with the scissors:) It is a good idea to replace them regularly though, as believe it or not, I have seen damage to the compressor wheels of turbos that was attributed to the filter foam degrading and going through the compressor - which means it also sent through the cooler and into the engine.

    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
