for 500kw at the wheels......

usually thats 2 Bosch parrallel fuel pumps.

Swirl tank

SX adjustable Fuel regulator

Apexi Power FC

1000CC injectors

Fuel system should use braided hoses

HKS fuel rails can handle this type of demand easily

heres a typical set up.... but this is just the fuel system, you need an efficient turbo, intercooler... adjustments to the air flow systems.

Decent drivetrain... usually 500kw gives you about 9 - 10 sec on the quater mile

thanks eeiko321 your a champ dude, you have the answer for every question ive asked. on the above photo can you label what all the lines are for me? and if there inlet or outlet etc. and where they go etc.

sorry to be such a pain but learning so much from you.

thanks again mate

By the way, where abouts in sydney are you located?

Also keep in mind that a setup like the one pictured has more money in fittings and braided hose too, something that people don't realise until their jaws drop when at the checkout counter!

And don't forget with that much power you'll be shearing 3rd gear like no tomorrow if driven hard!!

Here's another one FYI;

(R32 GTR)

-044 intank (lift pump)

-Twin 044's mounted on surge tank (undercar)

-Twin entry fuel rail

-1000cc's

-Adj FPR

-Earls fittings, lines etc

-Original supply line can be used as return to surge tank

As mentioned above, fittings will be a suprise.

The surge tank also is foam filled and has internal baffles. Basically fuel in that car isnt an issue.

As mentioned above, fittings will be a suprise.

he could be rich for all you know dude..

so this may just be a cheap excercise to him... who knows... not many people on here jump straight to 500KW at the wheels...

Im located in Sunny Auburn... where all the Broz and da Habibz live and the Couzzz as well...... lol

The swirl tank is also called a Surge tank.

here is an interesting article on a DIY surge tank

http://www.ratdat.com/?p=168

as per your request... Fuel system works with the surge tank with pump... here is a Schematic diagram on the run down and which way things flow.

http://www.sdsefi.com/fuelsys.gif

in my picture.. the fuel pumps you see...

The bottom side, where you see a Big Nut shaped bit is the INLET... and the one with the electrical terminals is the OUTLET.

as N1, mentioned...there are heaps of ways in doing things.. but this particular vehicle set up ive displayed was actually on an R34 GT-R done by a very reputable tuner in sydney

Croydon Racing Developments...

it was running Over 500KW at all 4 wheels, HKS 25/40 turbochargers with internal wastegates at 2.0Bar boost. with a 4-plate OS-Giken Clutch & Hollinger gearbox...

it has acheived 9seconds on the quater mile.

be wary at 500kw..... the stock engine internals will fry..... the GTR R32 gearbox is said to cope up to, 500kw...

hope this helps

cheers

Yeah agreed, although having a lot of money doesnt make parts cheap, just means less to that person. :)

Also, the more wealthy people i know are "tighter" than the average income people i know (to generalize) :)

Anyway, thats not the point, all the info in this thread is enough to build a capable fuel system, but i agree not many people go straight to that sort of power, hopefully this thread wasnt starte by someone on school holidays :)

well yeah...

the cars fuel system ive pictured was an R34 GTR... it had a Nismo Z-tune bonnet from japan which costed 10,000 AUD$

so whoever owns this car has money... or he could be just living like a SCUM or living with his parents and blowing every penny on the car.

i would personally never buy a bonnet that price...... but to some people ...the likes of DEMIR.. 10,000$ could be 1 cent in comparison to him....

yeah well he still hasnt told us why he is researching on this...

thanks eeiko321. youve answered all my questions, very helpful. look forward to hearing from you on my next question hahaha.

  • 2 weeks later...
how much power is the stock R34 GTR box capable of handling?

well not alot has been said about the 6-speed getrag on the BNR34

but generally "700Hp" ..approx 500 - 550kw is about the safe limit, anything over that..there is just no telling

    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
    • The video for the servicing and fuel filter change can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44 One of the main jobs I wanted to do before the car officially went on the road, was to remove the awful looking blue silicone hoses. There's nothing wrong with having coloured silicone hoses, but I realise as I'm getting older I prefer monotone engine bays with a splash of colour on the engine cover(s). I cover this in a lot more detail in the Youtube video, so unfortunately there's limited photos of the process. The intercooler, upper radiator, boost vacuum and upper breather hoses were all changed to black silicone with mikalor clamps. The only blue left is a blanking cap at the back of the inlet manifold and the GReddy pulleys (which will be replaced for stock when the cambelt gets replaced) While the intercooler pipes were off I gave them a quick clean/polish too A before photo I do have a replacement air filter on its way. Fuse box covers were painted blue, they're now satin black Another job on the list while the bumper was off, is to add some mesh https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737966256_99b28bfa30_c.jpg[/img] I was hoping to use some thin wire to secure it, but it seems I've misplaced it and the wire I had was too thick to twist easily. I ended up using cable ties for the time being https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131882_c2b7989dcc_c.jpg[/img] Was pleasant to see this https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54737131627_8b2aab13b3_c.jpg[/img] The last thing to do was to fix the front grill and re-mesh that to match but I ran out of time The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4FsF6tgizE&t=23s
