Turbotech Boost Controller On My 33

Recommended Posts

Hey people,

I've had a turbotech boost controller installed on my r33 for a few months now, running 11-12psi. When I stamp the accelerator, it occasionally spiked to 13psi or so and quickly dropped to 11-12psi. Very happy.

Just last week I decided to put on a pod filter and now when I stamp the accelerator it spikes to 14-15psi and drops to 12-13, which i'm not happy with.

Would the pod be causing this? I had the car dyno tuned in order to get the original boost setting, would you recommend getting it dyno'd again to reduce the boost ($150), or is this something I could do myself?

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Wind down the boost a little mate so it settles back to 12psi.

It's much easier for the turbo to suck in air with a pod filter rather than the stock air box, hence the reason for the spike.

Just wind it back down a little and your be fine.

Were you also comparing during different climates?

Was it alot colder when you put the pod filter on (cold air outside usually causes a bit more spike)?

cheers

Can happen with many manual boost controllers.

I had a Manual Boost controller on my R34 which did the same, not as bad because of lower boost.

I Now got a HDI electronic boost controller which hits 12PSI and sits there
