Hi, My 94 R32 GTR is having slight issues with the headlights.. Basically what is happening is if i turn the headlights on, only the drivers side comes on, this happens whether the engine is running or not.. Now if i start the engine with the headlights OFF, then switch the headlights on, again only the drivers side will turn on. BUT if i turn the ignition off, the passenger headlights turn ON!!!

At first i thought i had a loose connection, so i hard wired the left headlight in so as to bypass the suspected dodgy connection. Well that was a waste of time!

There is a fuse for the LEFT headlights, and a fuse for the RIGHT headlights. Both are fine. There is also a contactor marked headlighs, which is in my opinion the most likely culprit..

I have followed the loom right back to the fuse box and can't see any problems, so im leaning heavily towards the contactor in the engine bay fuse box.

I posted up here just to see if anyone else has had any problems remotely similar to this??

cheers,

Shaun

They give lots of switch and dipper switch faults. The main switch feeds out separate left and right, which also continues thru the dipper swich. Try flicking the switch on quickly to see if both come on at the same time.

I have had a very similar problem. i spent ages looking at all the connections and switches, even using new switches, rebuilding old switches, and making new connections. In the end i gave up and just crimped a wire from the working side to the dead side and got them both running. It was originally a temporary fix until i got time to have another look but we all know how that goes!

I had the exact same problem and used that method aswell. No time to be stripping switches n shit so just temp fixed it.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
