just decided to put on my leatherette seat covers on today properly and I've taken off the original factory skins off the backseat and passenger seat ... complete pain in the ass because they were COMPLETELY glued on to the foam underneath, so I've lost 2-3 mm of foam in about 30-40% of the surface...

Anyway .. few questions ..for those that do this sort of stuff

1) What sort of glue should I use to glue on my leatherette seat covers on to the foam? Something that won't burn/destroy the foam or dry too quickly while I'm putting it on and tightening it etc.

2) is there any sort of 'spray on' foam that you can buy so that I can fix up the seat foam where I've torn off bits ? Something that can be easily applied and spread and that will dry and connect with the factory foam

Thanks all.. gonna glue the rears on tommorow (still gotta tighten it with zipties around the edges too) but I've pretty much decided to take the front seats to a pro as they're impossible to separate the top and bottom half of the seat so it's a total PITA to put the front covers on..

oh yeah and the installation instructions that I got from the leatherette supplier are for an R33 and I was told they'd be the same pretty much ...not even close, totally different seats and the R34 skins are NOT glued on (except inside the seams)

has anyone installed the leatherette seat covers from Max (proseat) on an R34? How the hell are you supposed to pull the zip ties through the foam when it compresses as soon as you punch a hole through? Also what are the zip ties supposed to hold on to on the rear side when the R34 has no bars at back of the foam in the middle sections (only around the frame) Anyone ???

these leatherette seat covers are suppose to go over the original upholestery if these are the ones that im thinking of!!!!

+1 I never looked into them myself, just from pictures I saw on here.

I assumed they just layed them over the original upholstery, although the pictures did look like a tight fit

friend did them to hes 34 and he just sliped them on over the original skins didnt take anything off

Ive just spent the better part of the afternoon doing the rear bottom half ..gonna do the rar top half tommorow and I'd done. It won't be perfect but it sure as shit looks a lot better than a slip-on cover .. looks almost factory.

I'll get the front seats done professionally as they're a bit harder and I want those looking perfect (will probably ask for them to be glued on to avoid any creases etc). All in all ...the R34 leatherettes from Max/Proseat are a total pain in the ass to DIY if you do it properly .. best to let pros do it imo.

On that note ..ther other place "ultimate seat interiors" or something like that, which sells the same leatherette covers has a better design IMO with all the threads provided so you can just pull them through the foam and tighten ..beats screwing around with zip ties (headache and a half when you need almost 50 zip ties just for rear seats..)

that's my handy work ... took ages to finish. Not too shabby for an amateur and a lot of improvisation hey? But yeah, I'm letting a pro do the front seats because I don't want any of those air bubbles/creases on my fronts so I'll ask him to glue them on so they look like factory skins.

the R34 stock skins are completely glued on which is a pain in the ass and the proseat trims use zipties which is another pita .. if you have an R32/33 and use ultimate auto trim ones I don't think it'd be nearly as difficult to do these, lots of peeps have done them

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
