Looking very clean man, good stuff! :)

I went to Repco yesterday for some quotes, the guy said that the car isn't listed on the paper. He suggested I go to Bilstein on the Princes Highway. Took a trip there, the mechanic had a little doze off looking at the car haha and then recomended some things to do with it, then took me to the office to get some quotes.

x4 Bilstein Shocks - $1350

x4 King Springs - $400 (He said he can get Tein Springs in for a little extra, not much though, said it was like within 10%)

x2 Sway Bars - $400

How is that sounding?

EDIR - Oh and they charge $600 for labour.

Also I got a sound system in the boot of my car so the back sits lower than the front which is understandable....however the front of my car is WAYY to high for my likings. Could this be because the suspension is to soft? Will the above suspension setup fix this? Or like is there sometihng else I should be doing? Becuase its sorta bugs me eveytime i see it lol...

$2750 sounds about right there. The shocks are expensive because there Bilstein but they are the best shocks. Only thing i would look into is the springs if you find some good ones for 600 its still under $3000 :mrt: .... $2950

the labour is good price if it includes a tune to suit the GTS-4

Ok well I got another person I am going to call tomorow for a quote. Can I ask something though...don't know if I am going to get flamed for this lol but what if I go for just the coils and the sway bars with the stock shocks?

the coils will lower your ride so you will be closer to the ground and therefor better control.

Swaybars are always an awesome mod, there probably better than shocks. Still shock would complete it.

Definately going to get some swaybars, heard alot of good about them. I'll see how I go with money...also, a member on the forums is selling some HKS coilovers...i am interested in them but also double minded becuase everyone says there not the way to go for a daily.

d2 coilovers are 10kg at the front and 8kg at the rear...........not even track skyline have shocks rated that high, the reason i said is because these anodized coil overs are to heavy for Aussie roads. Read up about coil overs on the suspension forums, they will give you the info on whats good for its money and whats not.

I agree it would defiantly work out a lot cheaper but i doubt the handling will be half as good.

you can get them with lighter springs if you want, mine are alot lighter, like 6 and 4 kg...cos yeah we arnt allowed to use the heavy track set up on public roads either, and you can adjust the spring stiffness quite alot within its weight range, ive driven a mates mitsu GTO with tein shocks and its rock hard compared to my set up. personally i think my handling is very good, D2 are also very stiff laterally, i reckon their great value for the money

in that case then if you can change the spring no problem then they would probably save lots of money. Still prefer Bilsteins for the handling but 6kg and 4kg is a massive improvement for there 10kg, 8kg setup.

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
