Help with Head unit

Hey

Anyone out there help me with this, I had a Carrozzeria Head unit with Carrozzeria 6 Stacker Cd and speaker amp, it was factory in my r32 gtr.

It was working perfect in my car and I took it out as I upgraded to a mp3 player. Now when a friend installed the Carrozzeria head unit with stacker in his car its works perfect as well, sounds fine etc and the head unit lights all light up, every thing works find apart from the display on the screen on the headunit, it dosnt show anything. But it was working fine in my car and never been dropped or got water on it etc.

Can anyone please let me know how to fix this or what to do plz

I just got told this, can anyone confirm this please???

"some jap head units have an encoder which stops the screen comming up in case of theft

u need the owners manual to have the button sequence to get it back"

I have a carrozerria DEH990 and Ive removed it from my car and operated it directly from a 12volt battery. The display came up correctly and worked fine. This sounds a bit odd (what your friend mentioned). Does the face flip down to allow you to put a CD in? If so check the contacts for the silver/brass part where the wires connect internally.
