I spotted an SL500 in one of the car parks in South Perth today.

90's I am guessing? Looked ok. Makes 322 bhp according to wiki w/ a 5 lt V8. f**king A!

/f**k me. I'm reading the wiki page on the SL Class. Some of the high end ones do 0-100 km/hr in the high 4's straight from the factory. Makes by humble GTST look agricultural in comparison. So much for hairdressers cars! lol

Haha imagine this CLK with a big block chevy in it ripping down the drag strip running 10's LOL

I was thinking of getting the number plates KOMPRESSA

Yeah i guess with a car like this i wouldn't plan on trying to rip a doughie or standstill - or i'd most probably try something

the plates KOMPRESSR are hanging in my dad's bar...

he's willing to get rid of them as he's got a E350 now, make an offer if you pick up a blown CLK

Well i had a look a the CLK today (will be going back tomorrow morning to take it for a drive) - it is absolutely immaculate!

Will update again tomorrow once i have driven it and taken longer to examine :(

Ok, so i had a look at the CLK and it ends up it sold yesterday.

Soooo i went and had a look at a 2000 BMW 323Ci. It was fully optioned from factory bar the top of the range stereo. It has woodgrain, sunroof, leather, electric seats, etc.

I have never been a fan on the BMW's but i ended up buying it yesterday and i must say i am very happy with it - it drives so smooth, the stereo is awesome, it looks cool!

I'll get some pics up tonight - the car is factory standard :) the first thing it gets is tints, then deep dish rims and HID's ;)

Yeah a few other guys told me to go with the BMW's and i am happy i did as the BMW''s are much sportier and fun to drive than the Mercs - however i'll always like the Mercs lol.

Bubba just sit in the leather seats and I'll electrically adjust them while i style your hair ;) LOL

Yeah i have to admit, i am happy i brought it. It has a fair amount of power, well enough to do what i need but it sure ain't no Skyline!

Nice! A luxury armchair on wheels. :)

Does it give you a massage also. ;)

Dude this BMW will have give me sex if i want hahaha

Nah i don't think the seats are heated, although they are the memory electric seats XD

OMG i cant wait to dump it with deep dish rims LOL

pah my mums SAAB, bottom of the range has heated seats

Lol jokes, glad you ended up with a BMW rather than a Merc. Pics asap! Angel rice headlights? :P The interiors on those E46 BMWs always look mint...

Grats on your purchase!

No angel eyes unfrotunately  One of my friends has the exact same car minus sunroof and he recently installed aftermarket headlights with the projectors+angel eyes and he said its completley farked up his electronics for some reason. I also asked him if the install was done properly and he said he pulled it apart and follwed the instructions to be sure and still screwed up...

So i'm just going to do like an 8000K HID kit, LED tail lights, deeeeeep dish rims and lowered. But the first thing it gets is 20% mirror tints :P

Noo! You NEED angel eyes, thats the whole point to buying a BMW! My mums ex-bf had a E39 530i and a E39 523i and put angel eyes in both, installed himself and no issues with either. But he did get the proper ones, costing around 1k a pair not the usual 300 ebay cheapies.

I'll guess the bimmer's black? :P

Edited by Ten Four

Nah the Bimmer is titanium silver

Yeah i'll eventually get around to doing the angel eyes, but i'll get a piar of the proper facotry ones that won't screw up - i just don't have the extra $1K on me at the moment - i'd rather do the tints and rims first :P

After roughly a week of driving i have chewed through a tank of petrol. I am currently averaging 9.8L/100km for city driving - i filled it up with BP Ultimate on Sunday night and have done 135kms since and still have well above 3/4 of a tank left.

I have to say, for a 2.5L straight 6 motor in a car that weighs roughly the same if not a little more than an R33 Skyline, I am pretty bloody impressed with the fuel economy. The engine makes 160hp @ the flywheel so it's a decent amount and enough to get me where i need to go....it has plenty of torque so it's a pretty pokey engine

I've been real busy lately so i havn't had time to polish the car yet or take any photos but i should be able to get it done next weekend as this weekend is a camping trip XD

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
