Hey guys. I just realised rego is coming up at the end of the month and i've decided to try sell my sil off to someone who still has some motivation for this car game.

About 8 months ago, i converted my ca18det s13 to rb20det and it's been my daily ever since. I had some trouble with wiring until i bit the bullet and took it to a professional and now it runs great. The engine has ~ 130k on it and the chassis has 165k.

I don't like wasting people's time and i don't like people wasting mine. So i'm going to outline absolutely everything good and bad about the car so you know exactly what to expect.

I would have liked to sell the car for around $7.5k in perfect condition, but with the below outlined considerations i'm more than willing to accept lower offers.

Engine

- Silvertop rb20det from r32 skyline

- ~130k kms

- Hi flowed rb25 turbo. I don't know who did this job, it was on the motor when i bought it.

- Good compression across all cylinders.

- HKS SSQV bov

- metal intake pipe with pod filter

- Blitz front mount intercooler. This came with the motor and is the style that loops back under the intercooler. This doesn't really fit too well with the silvia front bar, which you will be able to see in one of the photos. This is one thing that is on my list to fix. It works fine and doesn't leak but it's not clean.

- No catch can. Another thing on my todo list.

- Running 14 psi through a turbosmart dual stage boost controller

- GKtech dump pipe with jap 3 inch exhaust and cannon. Surprisingly quiet at idle.

- A/C pump and core removed.

- Bosch 040 fuel pump

- Injectors cleaned and flow tested 4000 kms ago.

- Coilpacks tested 4000 kms ago and 2 replaced.

Body

- My brother reversed his ute into my car so the bonnet is scratched up from his number plate and the front bar has paint chips missing. In photos.

- An edge on the fuel filler about 3 cms long is scratched back to metal. In photos.

- There is small ding with no paint damage on the rear right quarter panel. In photos.

- A small jellybean sized spot on the rear bumper has paint flaked off. In photos.

Suspension

- Lovell lowered hardened springs

- Still have the stock springs.

- After market jap shocks. No idea what they are. Nothing special.

Interior

- Drivers seat has wear on the right edge

- Dash has a crack where the previous owner mounted a blitz boost gauge.

- Dephi copy water gauge

Additional Info

- The speedo does not work. Neither does the tacho. I have been driving around without them for 8 months and haven't had a need to fix them.

- It only has ca18det brakes. It needs to be upgraded to sr20det brakes at least to be engineered. So yes, that means this car is not engineered. I want that to be clear.

Location - Near Penrith, NSW

Price - I figure it will take about $1k to get it reregistered so i'm starting at $6500 or best offer

Contact - Phil on 0405077484

Any questions, post away.

I'll have pics up of the interior tomorrow.

I forgot to add that it runs AU falcon twin thermo fans controlled by a 92c on/85c off switch. It also has an exedy heavy duty clutch.

Also, I noticed there's some better condition cars for sale for around the same price so i'll drop this to $6000 or best offer.

Update: I put 12 months rego on it, bought a 40mm triple core radiator (fitted) and a delta fin intercooler (not fitted) but blew a turbo seal. The turbo has been replaced with a reguler rb25det turbo but it still smokes a bit when it's hot. Only done about 100kms since the replaced turbo so i'm not sure if it's left over oil in the system being burnt off or what. Taking that into account i've price dropped it to $4,000 ono

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
