yeah revhead, regional flights are notoriously scary, especially from gladstone, its $161 cheaper if he flew to rockhampton, and thats 107km further north, sometimes i just dont get it. As for the tuning side of things, im hoping to get a tune done thats adequate and safe to drive it to a shop then mark@godzilla can do the hard yards and get me the numbers!

The reply's and suggestions have been great guys, there greatly appreciated!!

Cheers, Allan

seemed to drive better on the way home, but that wouldnt be hard to do after running dodgey air flow meters. lol

but i didnt get it tuned for max power or anything pretty much stocko still at 0.8bar , want to conserve turbos etc till i decide to upgrade. but still have to look into the o2 sensor replacement.

But yeah mark was great to deal with very helpful.

Good bloke.

yeah he said he enjoyed working for you...he thought you were a little cautious/sensible...not really the normal customer. Most say turn the boost up...i want a big number etc...you however were patient until you have turbo's upgraded and all the proper support systems in place before turning the boost up. Its a nice safe tune that will look after your hardware till you are ready to take the next step.

a really hot soldering iron on the factory screws to remove them...dont forget to drill the hole for the vacuum line.

i pulled a power fc out of my rig to make way for the new vi-pec..... much better ecu and i got more power an torque with better driving on the street.

highly recomend.

mercury motorsport installed and tuned my in case ur curious.

so many on here would fail to accept this is actually possible...yes it was hard for them to fathom that something designed, engineered and built this century could actually be better than a similar product from last century.

Engine control is phenomenal...the Vi-PEC made my power fc look like a bucket...but i must admit i used to be an 'FC Fanboi' too.

Heh I'm at the point of doing a fuel system for my T88 powered FD and the power FC is just not up for it.... high impedance injectors only unless you want to run dodgy resistor packs, I'm trying to run the new Siemens 2430cc as secondarys and if I stick with the power FC I'll end up having to use something like an FJO / AEM injector driver

Seriously considering an M800 as that's what my builder uses in his car, but I may explore the VIPEC V88.

    • Went to a drift practice day at a local circuit (held on the reserve parking area behind the grandstand) for the first time in about 15 years. Some kei cars were drifting as well, a not so surprising Suzuki Carry truck, and two 1st gen Daihatsu Copens that were converted to rear wheel drive(!) using Daihatsu Boon X4 transfer case, prop shaft and rear diff, obviously omitting the front driveshafts. They looked really fun to slide. I heard that they cost "about half" as much as a Nissan Silvia etc to run.  On the track 'Tech M' a local BMW tuning garage had a customer track day. Mainly recent models but there was one E36 which looked ancient among all the current models. It was cool watching the drifting and then turning around and seeing random people thrashing their M3/4s  central-circuit-drift-practice-2025-05-18-long-yt.mp4
    • I prefer it with those wheels (sacrilege?) 😋 Here's a photo of a fully original one for reference. The price is $350K....
    • I would like to keep it around 15k but if I need more to make it reliable and not have to worry about the car breaking I can go more. It's my project car so I'm just trying g to figure out what needs to be in it i know basic things like turbo cams injectors I'm just unsure of the size and the specifics so I'm spending alot of time on Google and its mostly rb25 and rb26 not alot on neo
