Hey guys,

I'm contemplating whether or not to even get another car of my own (I have a work car so it's more of a want not a need!)... But if I do, I've been thinking something along the lines of an Evo 9 or something like that.

R32 Golfs are around the same money, but I'm not a massive hatchback fan...

What else would people suggest that would be in the same price range? Just looking to broaden my horizons as I could have missed something (I am blonde after all)

Cheers all!

Bec

Toyota Priuses are reputed to be able to drop phat skids :D

-D

I appreciate rotors, but don't think I'd buy one. Good looking car, but!

Prius? "If you put your arm out the window the vehicle will turn!" hahaha

JZX100s are wicked cars, but probably a bit big for me... Plus I want something a bit newer

And I had a current shape MX5 already (before GTR) :D Wicked car!!!

They do em for the environment to

i heard there tyres are made from a special compound that actually reduces tyre production emisions whilst smoking it up

What is your budget? What do you want the car for? What do you want the car to be able to do? How new? Answer these and we may be able to give you some serious suggestions.

Prius' = joke. They actually use more fuel when driving anywhere other than city 50 zones than the new V8 M3... And when they are written off or wrecked because they're majority battery, they are terrible for the environment, AND they create ridiculous amounts of pollution when they're built. People who buy them for environmental reasons haven't done their research. People who buy them to make a statement are a joke and clearly have horrible taste. Haha

There's a thought... M3... Hehe

what do you plan on doing with the car? what will be it's main purpose?

Mostly to be used on weekends, something that'll be fun to drive up through the hills in, something reasonably modern (newer than 04-ish), may do a couple more hillclimbs/track days etc... Something I can spend money on here and there, mild mods, wheels etc... But not pour cash into, otherwise I'd just keep going with the R  And not overly keen on FWD.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
