SLED Posted December 17, 2009 Share Posted December 17, 2009 by "square" I think he's referring to "bore x stroke = same dimensions" square bore motors generally make for quieter engines, my bike for example 100mm bore x 100mm stroke = pretty quiet for 1650cc x 2 cyls. I also understand there are many other factors that contribute, but generally speaking again, short stroke make for a better revving motor....increase the same motor's stroke and your torque figures drastically improve but you won't rev it as hard.
