anything toyota for daily. cheap and reliable. dont touch nissan, kia, hyundai any of that shit.

T-O-Y-O-T-A

4cyl FWD corolla FTW !!! costs me about 40-50bux for a 1 week and half. and if you insure under your parents name its cheap and chips.

Agreed on the toyota thing, anything i've ever had or been in that's been a DAILY styles toyota (vans, corolla's) etc just won't give in. BUT excel's are the f**king bomb too, our old one just would not die.

And you definitely don't wanna get something that is mildly amusing, and I mean that, even a piece of shit silvia, cos if you have the mod bug, you'll find SOMETHING to do on it. You need something you A) can't touch because there ARE no options or B) aren't allowed to touch (your mum's car would do the trick here).

Personally i'd be going for the Suzuki carry van or a Reliant Robin.

I'm big on style you see

So true, I had no intention of spending any money on the sexF but even found things to do on that (8 ball shifter , digital dash, etc). Theres ALWAYS options for a modder. Fortunately not many for an XF though :P

Personally i'd be going for ... a Reliant Robin.

+11ty!

I was thinking around 6K maybe

Think cheaper!

Get an excel cheap and nasty but i had one i couldnt kill, 40,000km service intervals FTW

+1

excels are hard to kill too 4 some reason

They know you want to kill them so they survive to spite you. True story.

DONT SELL THE 33 MAN!!!!!!!!!!

you have the rest of your life to buy a R34 GTR lol

Do not listen to this guy.

+1 vote to rolla or excel.

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
