Im about 20 hours into the game, all in all not a bad game but yep definetely gotta say this game is a fail for me. If it had any other name to it, it would be a fantastic game, but the fact it's a Final Fantasy game, just doesn't live up to it.

Great graphics, a billion hours of cut scenes and a storyline more complicated than a clitoris just doesn't do it for me. I dunno maybe im just getting old and getting over games. But this game just doesn't have the same feel as the old ones. Honestly every single one from 7 onwards has been more enjoyable to play than this.

was gonna buy it today till i realise its gonna take 30gb off my harddrive just to installed it

Yeah for the Xbox it does, that's why you should buy a PS3

I take back my previous statement about battle system and character building. It get's more involved the more you play. Pretty awesome game, the only thing killing it is the linearity.

Yeah I really enjoy the battle system.. I got 6 atb gauges with ultimate weapons

Also I just killed this huge cacture thing that always appears in the FF series, pretty hard the f**ker hits you for 9998 every time he does this gay needle attack...

i know the guy you are talking about. i used to fight him in ff10 with a weapon equiped where you gain experience points based off the damage recieved to your characters. by simply reviving members over and over you could earn tens of thousands of EX points per fight.

I forget... was the king cacture thing a normal enemy in FF10? He is like a secret boss in 13.

Makes strange noises... I think Japs find it funny or something? Weird.. lol

in FF10 he wasn't really a boss, just a person you would randomly encounter on the plains where you could ride a chocobo (although it was a slightly more rare occurance than the normal monsters), but i have a feeling he may have also been a semi boss in 1 section as well, where it didn't matter if you killed him or not, it just stopped you from getting some goodies.

ha, i did the same thing. made power leveling a breeze.

i'm waiting till early next month and then i'm going to convince the missus to let me get a ps3 and ff13. it's only going to cost me about half price cause i have enough points on my credit card to get $350 worth od gift vouchers, so if i get this job i applied for then i won't have any trouble convincing her.

I'm about 47hrs into the game. At first, i was like "Is this really it?" but trust me, it gets better. Whilst it is rather linear at times, i can tell you that around chapter 13, shit starts opening up, and its a lot more free playable.

Remember in FFVIII, how you get Balamb Garden, and then later in game (Disc 4) you get the airship "Ragnarok"?

Trust me, you want to keep playing. It only gets better. I tried fighting this dinosaur looking thing that is like 30 storeys high, and got stepped on causing 40,000 damage to all my characters in one hit. Gives you an indication of how long the game is!

Hahaha yeah i've tried fighting that thing half a dozen times.....no luck.

But yeah you are right, definetely gets better the more you play it. Quite enjoying it now.

was in dick smith looking at the game on the weekend and telling the missus i want it. she asked if i knew whether it was any good and i told her about this thread and how it only takes about 30 hours for the good stuff to really start happening. the look she gave me could've solved global warming. LOL

    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
