Previously with my high flow and around 280 rwkw I found the stock diff single spinning HEAPS, especially in 1st and 2nd.

I mean floor it and I'm facing the foot path in a second. Third was just damn dangerous if I was in a hurry.

Strangley now, with 335 rwkw, no one's touched the diff and I can launch the car from stand still with high rpm and she'll just smoke up and stay straight.

Traction is noticely much better than ever and the car won't kick out anymore at all in any gear.

If anyone has an explanation for this I'd like to hear it. :)

Cheers.

More load is more bite, As the lsds wear they require more savageness to lock up, big clutch kick

Mine is similar, powering out of a corner it will not lock up, only a clutch kick will lock it up, It what ud call a lots of slip differential

Time for shimming, rebuild or replacement

The way you described what was happening seems ass about.

If your car is going sideways on launch it will be spinning both wheels as neither have traction to keep the car straight.

If your car is now going straight on launch, I'd say only one wheel is spinning, because the non spinning wheel is the one keeping you pointed down the road.

huh?

single spinner = sideways...

on my stick diff i would crabwalk 3rd with 300rwkw

now with the mech locker i am always straight

That's what I thought.

How could a car stay straight with all the power on one wheel.

Doesn't make sense.

Thanks for clearing it up.

Last track day I felt very unstable around corners.

Anyway problem will be solved soon..

I've got a Nismo PRO GT 1.5 TT sitting in my boot,

thanks to Nathan at High Octane Racing.

Great price.

that's what i am running.... is your car street driven? it is the quietest diff ever!

just remember to break it in properly and change the oil

I'm a builder and need heaps of tools. I did actually take it to work for a while as my work vehicle died.

Nail guns behind the seats, saws, planers etc in a crate in the boot between the subs.

All the other tradesmaen thought it was hilarious watching me pull out all the gear from the boot, the back and front seats every day, then changing clothes before I get in. Not very practical but comuting was the best part of the day !

My R33 is not my daily, occasional afternoon drives and say 4 track days a year.

I'll go for a cane evey so on in the national parks. No cops., just cyclists. They love me. :D

    • GTSboy, thank you again. i’ve been reading all the other SAU RB25 vacuum line threads and you have the utmost patience for people asking “where do my vacuum lines go”. it’s appreciated. i did also enlist a few other RB guys local to me.  i would like to run 5 to 4. turbo pressure side to wastegate actuator. i would like to run 3 to 1. power steering air valve line to intercooler outlet. (this is how it was previously). i was told 2 is the bleed port for the boost solenoid - which i’m not running - so should be capped.   anyone see any problems with that?
    • So yes. All of them. Something like 98% of all fuel in the USA has 10% ethanol: https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/ethanol-fuel-basics It's labelled as like, AKI, 87, 91, 93 with an E10 or E5 or E15 label on the pump. At a certain point, it's not just "E10" instead of 91. It is 91, 95, 98, and all of them have 10% Ethanol in them. You can also get E85 and E30 which is why you do see some people rolling around with E30 tunes in them.
    • Thanks for the response. This is an 04 EP3 Type R. JDM spec. Fairly certain they're just basic BC racing coils. I do plan to keep as the ride quality on stock I've been told is pretty meh given Sydney roads. If I were to go down that avenue, does NSW require them to be a certain spec (close to original) etc?
    • Should have asked what is the car?
    • I've had two super conflicting experiences with blue slips. My 30 year old E39 waltzed through with no issues but my brother in law was knocked back on 12 y/o 3 series due to wiper blades and some cracking in a control arm bush.  What kind of coil overs? Do you want to keep them after?  If it was me I'd get some dirt cheap shocks and springs from eBay or scumtree. Not ideal but will get you over the line and might even be less than $1k.
