hi there, i was wondering if anyone knows whats the correct afm for the rb25det, the reason i am asking this is the car is running very rich and stutters when you try to move off from a standstill, when moving of, there is alot of black smoke coming out of the exhaust and there is alot of popping during the rpm range.

any info will be appreciated thanx

i would say the correct afm for an rb25det is an rb25det afm. :D

could be a few reasons for your probs. i dont know what ecu you are running, if you have a aftermarket one you prob just need tuning. Your BOV could be really loose and/or leaking at idle.

popping can be caused by the afm maxing out, you didnt say what boost you are running, but try to lower it. When the afm maxes out i believe the ecu chucks heaps of fuel in to avoid leaning out.

oh and according to the information that i got, the safc2 and the field controller does the same thing by means of intercepting the afm signals and altering them b4 going to the ecu,,they both can make the mixture leaner or richer and both have adjustments for the whole rpm range i believe it might work. whats your opinion? do you know of this type of controller?
