Are U Stripping Your R32 Gtst But Can't Be Bothered Pulling Everything Apart? I Can Help

Recommended Posts

Last time the car was on a hoist the mechanic noticed that the rear right subframe bush was leaking, there are marks on the body where its been hitting, & rear end is very squirmy under accelerating if i'm not getting severe axle tramp.

Basically because I don't want to have the car off the road during the week, i have figured it may be easier to swap the whole subframe or rear end myself opposed to paying a mechanic all the labour involved dropping the rear end and pressing out all the bushes & replacing.

I am located in melbourne, i can organise pickup wherever/whenever suits.

i am after either a subframe with the bushes in reasonable condition or whole rear end with or without diff. My car has ABS so the diff is slightly longer i think, but is in need of a rebuild (lots of backlash), so if you are wrecking your car for parts but can't be bothered pulling everything apart let me know with what you are offering.

Even is bushes are shagged, i may still be interested.

Cheers

Rob

P.s i have looked into fitting pineapples or metal collars, they are not what i am after don't think they will fix my problem.

    • What Duncan said sounds right. Also, it looks like they only have the driver's mat. Not the rest. Because looking at the diagram: KG4911 is just the mat for the driver. KG4900 is the full set if I'm not mistaken and discontinued.   But, it looks like they may still have the full set for the manual S2. Might be worth checking for the other models as well as they seem slightly different. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/epc/nissan-japan/stagea/wgnc34/6649-rb25det/misc/G49 Man, I'm tempted.
    • I dunno about that as a blanket statement. Pitwork is Nissan's "Nissan genuine" thing, and for stuff like timing belts, I have found them to be excellent. Of course, for things like oil filters, you always use proper trusted brands anyway, not whatever the OEM has taken to using.
    • Ahhhh... If you were putting 12V to the led in there, that's likely made it very unhappy. Chances are how you put power, was 12V across an LED that's meant to only have about 20mA through it at peak, and a forward voltage of about 1.8 to 2.4 volts. That circuit is likely only a 3V3 circuit, and will have a resistor in series with the led too. That's my guesstimate on that light, without having touched one.
    • Another vote for installing them and see how you go.  I mean, you already own them, why would you not fit them?
    • I have had too many of those over the years, my cars have a toolkit or at minimum a cheapy multi tool thing because its too easy to be snookered by some stupid plastic clip that stops you checking the battery terminal isn't loose.
