Glad to have you on board Rene!

We hope you get all the info you need for your improvements. Cars look nice - real nice. The B4 has a really high-grade sound system in it too eh?

But hey, the sound system in my Forester XT is used - and the sound system in my 'Line is not (unless it's a long country drive).

I've been to NZ twice - and I love the place.

1st time in '75 was a pharmacy conference.

2nd time in '91 was to take the family.

I have never struck rain at Milford Sound in the 3x I've been there - nor Mt Taranaki - nor Doubtfull Sound! Lucky eh?

If I go again, I want to do the Tongariro Walk + Cape Kidnappers/Napier + White Island + some more Fiordland; hmmm... maybe Milford Track (with insecticide & iPod) lol

uh well i ripped the stereo out of the b4 pretty much as soon as i got it lol. yeah seems like you got lucky with it not raining lol, they dont measure annual rainfall down there in mm they use meters haha. insecticide is a must those sand flies are massive lol. havent really done much in the south island, ive only moved here a few years ago, before that i was at boarding school in brisbane.

Cheers guys

I hear that Developers are trying to market high rise apartments in Wellington with views over the harbour.

How's real estate growth atm Rene?

Brisbane > NZ. hmmm... you must notice the cold!

real estats a bit of a low point at the moment, good time to buy.

suprisingly it does actually get quite warm here during summer, its weird our high 20's and low 30's is lik your guys mid to high 30's. but in winter its a completely different story haha, -2 degrees thick as fog, rain ;) thats when i wish i was back in brizzy.

and yes an esky is an esky, not a chillie bin (or "chullie bun" if u say it like some of us kiwis :bunny: )

thongs are thongs, not jandals

doona is a doona not a duve

i get some funny looks, when i refer to thongs in public sometimes haha

Well, thanks for that info.

Hamilton... not far from Waitomo is it? If so, I loved the atmosphere of New Plymouth when I was there. I don't know what it's like nowadays. I haven't been there since '91.

its about an hour from Waitomo, havent been to New Plymouth in a couple of years, i love the drive down there, nice and windy :) it was awesome in the subie, lookin forward to take the skyline down there!

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
