Vehicle Regestration

Hi hows it going, i got a Nissan Skyline R33, i have recently gotten it from the hail auctions. The car is classified as a repairable write off but its only hail damaged however i am currently on my L plates and it will be roughly about 6 months till i get my P plates. However i am interested in registering the car and i understand i have to get it pre approved by a retailer. However i want to know is there any way you can get the car registered without a drivers license?

However if the case its not possible, then if i lets say let someone else get it registered which has a license for example a friend, does that mean i can still be the owner of the vehicle but the registration is just on there name?

You can register it in someone else's name.

Be sure to make it a family member. They will come looking for you when they get a speeding ticket in their name.

okay then thank you, im currently a student here so i don't have any family around. However if i get it registered on a friends name, will it be possible for me to be still as the owner of the vehicle, but as well when i get my license what kind of process do i have to go thru to get the registration transferred to my self.

You can register the car into your own name without a license.

I was the registered owner of my first car for 7 months before I got my license.

The car isnt even really hail damaged, its so light you cant even really see it during the day only when the sun is really bright on it. Plus its mainly on the bonnet and car is silver so if i do decide to get rid of it i can just replace the bonnet.

YES you can have a vehicle registered in your name from the age of 16 regardless of whether you hold a driver's licence or not.

I'm assuming you already have a learner's permit? If so, that means you already have a driver's licence number (and my guess is it would start with the number 5 ). This also means you already have a record with us, so when you get the car over the pits and registered it can all be in your name
