Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge Probe

Hey ppls.

I would like to add a Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge to my dash cluster, and I would like to know where the probe goes for the reading?

Is there a factory probe, or do I need to add a new one?

The main reason I ask, is that if I'm going to get a new dump pipe, I need to add the boss for the probe before I get the dump made or HPC coated.

Hi Bass Junky, we place the EGT probe as close to the lambda sensor as we can on the dump pipe. You normally buy the probe with the gauge as a kit.

Its best to put it into the exhaust manifold, not the dump pipe. The turbo takes away an continuously variable amount of heat from so its not exactly reliable. It can subtract anywhere from 100-400C.
