Hello guys

Just last week I wrecked my ECR33 drifting at the track.......... fast forward a few days and I have a new HR33 with my old engine set.

the only difference I see is the small junction box above the ecu location on the HR33 only has one spot for the big plug and that's it. The small clip next to it reminds me of the body wiring loom for the s13.. this was blank as well when removing the HR33 engine harness.. I cut the small clip that fits into that location on the HR33 off of the ECR33.... If its similar to the s13/14... that is just for your gauge cluster.

basically my injectors which worked before the swap are not clicking when cranking or turning CAS by hand. I have not check spark yet as it was getting late and had to go to work in 3 hours. I am getting plenty fuel. Ill try another CAS after work.

anyone done this swap and if so what were any issues if any?

ps

running PFC not issues at all after the crash.

there was nothing to patch. swapped the entire engine with harness over and every plug was plugged up. engine ran fine before the swap. the only thing disconnected are the grounds and power source amongst the obvious things to remove the engine.

no spark at all.

I used 3 CAS, 1 set of coil packs and 3 ignitors today.

been reading up on possible relay issues.... I directly powered and grounded the relay still nothing. Ill figure something out... events are coming up fast.

So your engine and loom is from a series 1 but is the donor a series 1 or 2? The power feed for the injectors is different and the series 2 doesn't have relay to switch the coils on like the series 1. The power feed to the switching side of the relay is missing in the series 2 loom.

no sir my engine is a S1. I fixed the issue about 2 hours ago

I had to power the injectors and cut the thick white wire on the relay next to the ecu and hook power up to the other wire not connected to the relay.

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
