*LOACH*
Any advice on which job you would choose: Eikaiwa job (Shizuoka) ALT (assistant language teacher) (Gifu) Pay and working hours are virtually the same. Apartment may be better in Shizuoka but not confirmed. ALT job - big company, Eikaiwa - small company Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/330220-alt-or-eikaiwa/ Share on other sites
adam87
iv never worked as an eikaiwa monkey so i cant really comment but from what ive heard i dont really want to do that after being an ALT for three years..... i would choose ALT. mainly for the much better and longer holidays!!!!!! and normal saturdays and sunday as holidays. but then in japan your normal days off dont really matter too much as everything is always open anyway. did i mention the better holidays....hahaha ALT, maybe 8 weeks to 10 weeks a year where as an eikaiwa job is normal holidays plus 10 extra that cant be taken in sequence. plus gifu gets awesome snow in winter Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/330220-alt-or-eikaiwa/#findComment-5365612 Share on other sites

Probably be good to have experience at both ALT and Eikaiwa for long term job prospects. (I have a bit over a year of Eikaiwa). Can I ask which company you are an ALT with? .....PM me if you prefer Yeah I went snowboarding in Takasu this January - awesome place. Sadly I am not an ambiturner when it comes to snowboarding, took most of the day before I could turn right without using my face as a snowplough.
