Start Up Issue

G'day everyone car has been making a scraping noise on cold/warmish start up but not hot start up.

It sort of sounds like a starter motor that's been cranked when the engines on but a weaker version. It only last for a second but

Car has a weak start up in the morning but I know compression is healthy.

Maybe a dying starter motor? Btw I drive a s1 r33 turbo run on 10 w-40w oil.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

starter has a one way drive inside. they sometimes wear out and slip when cranking. but usually they dont work then do etc and not in the middle. not sure exactly what you mean about weak start? turns over slowly, or turns fast and engine takes a while to get up to idle. goodluck

What i mean by weak start itll crank to 700rpm struggle for a half second then die. 2nd crank will always work though.

Any other ideas?
