Firstly it's MECHANIC.

Right. Secondly, none of this sounds RWC related. The water pump siezing was definitely no fault of the mechanic nor an RWC item.

And believe it or not but oil leaks CAN manifest "overnight". There is a chance that perhaps he didn't install something correctly when he did the gaskets, in which case, shit happens. There was unlikely to be any devious intentions and so long as he rectifies it, then no harm done. It's not an RWC item so suck it up.

As has been said, an RWC does not guarantee you haven't bought a shit car.

Sounds to me like you bought a lemon and the mechanic has actually done the right thing by you and not pinged every little thing he could but now your lemon is being squeezed you want someone to blame.

What? So the wall was gone? How was there air in the tyres?

How do you know something didnt happen to them in the 2000kms of driving???

It was verified by a further 2 independant parties, both who I didn't know prior. The damage was consistent with wear over a duration not hard impact. There was another part to it which will type up later where we were able to confirm it occuring it over a duration and not quickly. Walls wise, could put my fingers into the deep scoring as the wall had collapsed.

Look apart from the smallish leak the car is perfect and I said earlier I’m playing the blame game as I’m really happy with the car! Don't mean to be rude but I’m not asking for your "opinion" what is an issue and is not. I said earlier that I was just wondering what the law in this situation is IF the rwc is dodgy. This has now been resolved so there is no need for you to further try and dig deeper into this.

As for the RWC pump seizing was just bad luck and coped it on the chin. Doesn't mean the car is a lemon as the pump was not leaking! If you pay a decent shop to change gasket and they continue to leak (due to poor labour), then most places will attempt to fix the problem free of charge, to protect the rep ( i checked and this was not the case this time)

If you wanted to actually contribute to the discussion you could say the rwc rule about oil leak as I’m sure it defined somewhere. But like I said I got everything under control, thanks for your input.

Do you actually know where the oil leak is and what caused it yet?

without degreasing the the engine yet (which i will do over the weekend) i know the cam and crank seals are fine and the rockets are good too. there must me some small hose that has come loose and its frustrating not been able to locate the leak lol maybe some sort of breather....

    • That looks good, but I think you're going to need much beefier side skirts now.
    • They are daft and there's a reason it never caught on. Steering feel? We don't need no stinking steering feel!
    • I gotta pull you up on this. It's driving me crazy. A shutter is something that closes, like over a window or in a cmera. The word you want is shudder. That LSD is clearly f**ked. Take it to a diff shop and get it disassembled and examined by an expert. YOu might have plates welded together or something equally crazy.
    • Define "starting to fail". Wy not just rebuild them?
    • Check the Nistune doco. There are a few assumptions being made here that might not be valid. I will list the things that occur to me: Base map. Base map for what? Base map for Z32? Then the cranking pulse width is probably wrong for an RB25. The extra 500cc of capacity might well be enough to prevent it from catching. Base map for RB25? I don't think you can load one of those into a Z32. You have to just make the settings correct for an RB25 in the Z32 base map. That is either K or the TIM to get the pulsewidth right. Loom. You bought a loom for an RB. And you plugged it into a Z32 ECU. Did you make sure that any iwre differences were swapped. From memory, there's at least a couple. And as per the others, I would suggest making sure that the fuel pressure is correct while cranking and that the injectors are actually flowing as expected. They really must come out and go on the bench, unless you do find that you have messed up as per above points. I would also suggest watching in Nistune to make sure that everything is reading correctly. That the correct binary flags are raised at the right time (like the crank signal), that there's no stupid values in K or TIM. That you have not got mismatched firmware for the ECU and/or a wrong image loaded.
