Hi Guys,

anyone want a carbon fibre boot lid for their R35 GTR. Happy to sell at cost.

I bought this from hong kong from Carbon Stone. Just has just arrived and it is all timber boxed up ready to ship back out to someone who would like it.

It is surplus to my needs, as i mounted my new wing directly to the OEM lid.

pic here is from carbon stones web site.

my lid was ordered with mounting holes for hinge only and no holes for the wing so you can add any wing you like.

Bill

My costs were $1494. But i would take offers over $1000. For those thinking of changing there wing i thought it would be easier to change the wing than swap boot lids. I was wrong. The OEM wing had to come off in 3 parts as it is held onto the OEM boot with the screws that we can see but also clips and adhesive. This makes it a difficult and time consuming task to change wings. Also removes OEM colour coded stickers, which i'm still trying to find from Nissan. So to refit the OEM wing will be a PITA. It cost me $800 at the shop to remove OEM and install the aeromotions wing. So swapping boots with wing installed starts looking like an attractive proposition. If only i knew.

If anyone is keen i can open the crate and take actual photos. Im sure it looks better in real life.

The new feet on the R2 wing are optional and don't have to be mounted with the uprights. Therefore producing a cleaner line and finish. I asked about any extra reinforcement required for the R2 wing and it seems that it is only required for the S2.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
