V35 General Maintenance

Hi i'm relatively new to all this.

I've recently had a lot of interest in a 2003 V35 with about 94,000 kms on the dash.

A few people told me when it reaches 100k's it's going to need a timing belt change that's going to cost around 1000,

and some kind of special transmission oil that must be imported from japan, costing another 1000.

They have also told me that the seals on this car are extremely bad, and need constant refitting as they leak profusely.

Does anybody know anything about this, or the general maintenance costs of owning one of these?

Any input would be extremlyyyy helpful.

Cheers

Hi there, i've got the same type of car and a very similar query.

when i purchased the car i was told that this car has a timing chain and it only needs to be replaced after 200,000 kms. I believe the fluid is transmission fluid cos i heard the same thing.

don't mean to hijack your post but i was wondering if anybody knew of places to service this car in Melbourne, preferably in the SE suburbs?

thanks.

You only need the expensive transmission oil for

V35 350GT-8 Sedan only as it has specially CVT transmission, "different to the Nissan CVT as fitted to Australian cars"

but if you buying a normal V35 Coupe or Sedan "with Normal Auto or Manual", i don't think it needed

if your car has done 95K, i suggest you do a full flued flush as you dont know the "Exact" KM it traveled in Japan. it is normall for Jap cars to have the KM wound back

when i brought my V35 Coupe, i got this done and it did cost me around $450

100,000 service is around $850 was the quote i got, but i sold the car before 100,000KM, Never heard of V35 timing belt good for 200,000, not sure if that is a chance you would want to take !!!!

the trader told me it was a 'timing chain' which only needs to be changed at 200,000 kms.

Looks to be correct

not sure if they need to change other stuff for 100,000 service, oil pump and other engine belts

I know you need to do full transmission Clean and tune around 100,000K and injector clean as well, dont know about Power Sterling wheel system clean up.
