This engine has just finished being put back together.

This engine has been built and running before. A failed oil pump caused damage on initial start up and damaged the cams and cam tunnel. The motor then completed 15 laps of Winton, was pulled apart because of a minor oil leak from one of the unused bolt holes in the GTi-R oil pump.

I then removed it from the care of those engine builders and have had it put back together with all new parts, inlcuding new cams, gaskets, bearings and a quality used crank. Machining by Blackwell Race Engine, and assembly being done by friends of mine, one of whom is an ex V8 Supercar engine builder. Inspection welcome.

Work completed below:

Block:

Block pressure tested with cylinder head fitted - OK

Block chemically cleaned

Mains line honed with ARP Studs fitted

Torque Plate honed lightly ARP studs fitted

Block decked

Cylinder Head:

Cylinder head camshaft tunnels honed due to camshaft pick up

Camshaft sensor locating bore honed due to pick up

Head all ready had been surfaced

Crankshaft:

New crank - crack tested - OK

Crank clearance ground on mains and big ends 10/10thou

Piston and rods:

This is not a bitsa engine, and has cost me well over 20k to get to this stage, not including buying most parts twice. If you want an absolute torque monster with all the good bits without the hassle and expense of getting it built yourself (and believe me it can be a major hassle) then this may be for you.

Plenum/fuel rail and injectors not included, long block only. Any questions please email me.

Can deliver interstate/pick up available.

Also listed on Ebay.

Price: $9000 or reasonable offer.

    • Robertson was a Canadian inventor, and it absolutely reigns supreme here. 95% of our screws are Roberston. It's literally the only option you can buy off store shelves. What would it have lost out too? I believe it's also very popular in the US.  My reference to imperial was pointed to both NPT and BSP.
    • No. BSP lost to the cultural/technical imperialism of living next to Trumpistan. Face it, Robertson screws were better and still pretty much lost out to the yank stuff. The Europeans hate the Brits and they don't use NPT. NPT is just as "imperial" as BSP is, being based on those useless inch thingos. Just done differently.
    • I live in Quebec. Our license plate slogan is "Je me souviens" Translated is "We will remember" as a reminder to when England conquered us and that we must never forget what they did. Long story short, BSP is unheard of here due to being an English design. I'm surprised our nazi anti english government office the OQLF hasn't kicked in my door yet just talking about it, yet alone imperial anything.
    • Thanks for that! I did a quick Google search looked up some of hydaulic stores and didn't see it listed on the website, I'll give them a ring. Also found out later that I can buy 2 oem bleeder bolts for 10 bux and come with the washer which I might do so I don't waste the money it costs in petrol to find 2 washers (already did that lol). The old copper washes look in good nick, I drove it after taking it off and putting it back on and didn't see any  Part number here for reference if anyone needs: 14053-42L0A
