Hi everyone,

I am wanting to sell/trade my mx5 for a clean r32 gtst or 180sx. After many years of driving other makes and models - Hondas and Mazdas - I want to get back into a turbo car.

Here is a few bits of info about the car:

Model: NA6 Mazda MX-5

Colour: Crystal White

Transmission: 5 speed Manual

Mileage: Donor engine - 67,500 kms (approx); Chassis - 209,000 kms

Rego: will be renewed so Rego will be until 24th September 2011

I have had the car since late August 2010 and I have since had the car resprayed (stock white, outer skin only) and have had the engine replaced with a fresher long nose crank type after the previous engine eventually bit the dust. I have included below a mod list outlining what is currently on the car.

Mods:

-Gates Timing Belt

-X Force Headers

-High Flow Cat

-Stainless Steel exhaust with Npower Muffler

-Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch

-Top Gun Ignition Leads

-Arc Intake Chamber

-NoPro washer Bottle

-HSD Coilovers

-Front + Rear Chassis Brace

-Slotted Rotors

-Axis OG Wheels (15 x 8 +25 et) with SportCompact Continental Tyres (195/45/15) 85% read

-Garage Vary Polyurethane lip

-Garagestar offset bracket (license plate)

-Pioneer Head Unit

-Fusion 6" splits

-Brown Davis Rollbar

-Sparco Sprint Jnr Bucket seat (red) NOT YET INSTALLED

-ARC Titanium Gearknob

-JJR deep dish suede steering wheel

-Project KICS Titanium Lug nuts (blue)

-Fresh respray (3 months old)

-O2 sensor, ignition coil pack and afm replaced

-Donor engine installed (advised to have had 65,000 kms) installed early February by Daniel Deckers.

-New engine mounts

-All hoses replaced with new OEM hoses

Car is only ever driven on the weekends and has never been tracked. Hoping to sell for around the $10 000 range or a trade with an r32 gtst or a nissan 180sx.

awesome mx man! would love this if i had room for it...good luck sellin! should go quick...

Thanks mate! The good news/bad news is that I've found a buyer. I'll miss this car because it definitely is a head turner, but I guess the good news is that I am now officially looking for an r32 gtst in good condition. I was set on getting Rhysee's white 32 but that sold before I managed to find a buyer. So does any one have any on offer? Any color would be fine, except for maroon, but my preference would either be black or white. Thanks everyone.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
