DRFT D1 S15 drifter... around the corner from me.

Recommended Posts

This is it.

These pics were taken immediately around the corner from my apartment.

I don't mean to sound co_cky, but how many of you live around the corner from a D1 driver? This is DRFT D1 driver Akinori "Uchii" Utsumi's DRFT D1 S15 chop-top drifter on a flatbed truck at 9am this morning:

So you're probably thinking, why don't I get expert drift tuition from this guy?

I will, just as soon as I get my 180SX... I kid you not.

Oh, and here's me doing my best "Jash" impression at the Osaka Auto Messe last month... with "Asuka"...

Good son of rajab... look at that tummy...!

Oooooh, don't do that!:woofy:

Asuka is "Rei's" friend... yep, if you know one RQ, you know about 20 of them. Asuka is coming to our school next month for a trial lesson. Can't wait!

;)

You should interview him Rezz!

Good idea... but you should of seen Uchii when I told him I live around the corner from him and walk past his house every day!!! He was embarrassed for sure... I think it's coz he still lives with his parents... :)

Haha, thats awesome, Come to think of it the D1 Round champs only get 300,000 Yen ($3500) and Imamura who was D1 Champ last year only received 1,000,000 Yen ($12,000 AUD)... So I don't blame the poor bugger if he is still at home, that amount of prize money isn't much considering the cost of the amount of modifications that they have in there drift machines, I guess the sponsers pay for it all :D

Better be soon Justin, before the cold disappears :).

Me been away for 2 weeks, hosed the light snow off the car last weekend luckily the snow we get doesn't collect on the road. How good is that 3 degree day temp :D:D:D

We will have to catch up before you leave for Aust, exchange our photos etc.

Certainly is good weather for thirsty turbos :P

We had a big dump of snow here the other day - didn't last long, but I was talking to some elderly japanese gentlemen (70s and 80s) in my eikaiwa class and they both said it was the only time they had ever seen heavy snow in march.

Roll on humid weather I say! still got the frickin' rainy season to go though...

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
