Active-Lsd Light Constantly On R33 Gtst Series 2

I have noticed a few days ago that my active lsd light has been staying on and never going off! as far as i know, if this is not working correctly the car cannot actually drift or spin the wheels or something. but i can in fact spin my wheels but i just need to know what the light is telling me! previous to the light coming on i had the centre panel behind the gear shifter out installing a ipod cable through.. also had the left and right side door covers off to get under the carpet to put speaker wires through. once i had put it all back and taken for a drive the light appeared to be on! car had also been sitting up on ramps for a while. any help would be fantastic!!
