Hey All,

Well ive finally decide to sell my little Black R32 Gts-t, but 2 months ago i forgot that i was defected for my Pod, next comes a letter in the mail....

"Notice of registration Cancellation" !!! over a ****ing pod that leaks a little bit of gas ??....

Now, the plot thickens, prior to this defect i have thrown a HKS front mount intercooler in the bay, and in order to clear my defect i had to put the standard airbox on, and just as things couldnt get any worse .... It didnt fit because of the piping... now i know alot of you will say .. "just make up a custom box" but i gonna take guess here that .... It needs to be engineered ? and the plot thickens again, theres no engineers for 2 hours were i live ... Great.

One more question, can i take off the piping on the FMIC thats in the way temporarly, put the standard box on and take it to get cleared or will the car **** up ?

So i should do what exactly ?

Please tell me that at least 1 person has been through this or similar ....

Cheers all !

Mitch

I met a whole buncha bastards who wouldn't sign off on my defect unless it was back to the original airbox.

Liek yu0 kn0... get farked...

Not after a spent the money on a new pod and fiberglass box.

Unfortunately most places who can clear defects won't jeopardise their license for only $16.50...

T.

Well, i just had an idea to cut away a bit of the airbox so it bypasses the piping... so im going to do that 2morrow....

BTW. Are the RTA leanient with defects that lead to rego cancellations ? will that let me just reactivate the rego for a small fee ?

Cheers all and thanks for the replys

Just cover the pod with a box and go to your local blue slip garage and get them to check it. It took me longer to pop the bonnet lever and raise the bonnet than it took for them to inspect everything.

To be honest their is nothing illegal about a 'pod filter' but lets not get into that again...

:D

I had one and got defected. I went to a place near me, sat the box in dodgily and just swapped it over when I left again. he was cool about it because he checked it with the standard box, didn't he? if I put it on again after he leaves it isn't his problem

I now have a standard box with K & N panel filter. I also have a HKS FMIC, but the piping fits perfectly with the box, is yours a proper kit??

why you stressing for about the pod and rta, trust me you dont have to think about them, i get those leters all the time about defects and cancelation of rego, then licence if you dont fix it, but if your in sydney message me i have someone who will clear your defects and you dont even have to change anything.

    • Robertson was a Canadian inventor, and it absolutely reigns supreme here. 95% of our screws are Roberston. It's literally the only option you can buy off store shelves. What would it have lost out too? I believe it's also very popular in the US.  My reference to imperial was pointed to both NPT and BSP.
    • No. BSP lost to the cultural/technical imperialism of living next to Trumpistan. Face it, Robertson screws were better and still pretty much lost out to the yank stuff. The Europeans hate the Brits and they don't use NPT. NPT is just as "imperial" as BSP is, being based on those useless inch thingos. Just done differently.
    • I live in Quebec. Our license plate slogan is "Je me souviens" Translated is "We will remember" as a reminder to when England conquered us and that we must never forget what they did. Long story short, BSP is unheard of here due to being an English design. I'm surprised our nazi anti english government office the OQLF hasn't kicked in my door yet just talking about it, yet alone imperial anything.
    • Thanks for that! I did a quick Google search looked up some of hydaulic stores and didn't see it listed on the website, I'll give them a ring. Also found out later that I can buy 2 oem bleeder bolts for 10 bux and come with the washer which I might do so I don't waste the money it costs in petrol to find 2 washers (already did that lol). The old copper washes look in good nick, I drove it after taking it off and putting it back on and didn't see any  Part number here for reference if anyone needs: 14053-42L0A
