#@Ants has been doing a lot of this on his GT-R. He would be worth talking to.

Ah ok, yeh can't really go wrong with the re-spray...the more effort you put into your sanding before and between coats the better it gets ;)

Decided against going plastidip too as I don't think it comes in a gloss as it's a rubberized paint....plus it costs too much. But it's definitely handy if you have a nice set of wheels and you just want to try out a different colour with the intention of maybe pulling the paint back off at some stage etc. I'm happy to spend some time sanding and prepping - got all the time in the world lol ;)

Yeah good thanks, decided on black plastidip for the wheels, just trying to find new gram lights decals. Hard to find legit ones!

Booking the car into efi soon to get the nistune done finally too :) how's things with you?

Oooh that's awesome man - about time you got a couple extra ponies under the hood!

The black will go nicely with the silver too ;)

#@me_larr any updates on the search for the new beast/sale of your dearly beloved?

Sale is going slowly as I thought it would. Have had a few requests for swaps but the cars aren't what I'm gunning for.

Feeling first hand how slow the market is right now.

Went for a drive in a stock evo last week. All I can say is that they're definitely more than just a fast car. If you guys haven't been in one, you really have to. Surpassed my expectations on how a "lancer" should drive/handle

Only dislike was the doors clanged so bad when closed. Made the 180 feel almost luxurious.

I dare say that a new evo would feel quite zippy. The whole mivec system would give them motor a pretty nice torque curve too no doubt.

But I don't know if I could do this to...f*k....my car still doesn't have a name lol

^ I call mine the 'old girl'.

Polygamy is a wonderful thing

New evo's are way out of my budget LOL. Would rather a 34GTR, then spend the rest on a falcodore.

But even the old ones are awesome. 7s-9s make 382NM - 400+ NM of torque factory standard from a pissy little 2ltr motor.

Look, I'm a victim of circumstance. I don't want the extra expense of keeping her and paying rego/insurance on a 3rd car. But I'll say this, when my numbers come up, I'll have a type x, GT3, 400R/VSpecIINur all in the one garage ;)

And then employ me too look after them for you?

Chris will polish them while I do mechanical and tuning ;)

If and when my numbers come up ;)

Although this car is going to get me into trouble, u won't understand until your in it :P

I don't have to get in it to know this.

I'm going to hazard a guess right now, she's too loud, too low, paint job looks "different" and there's a guy that looks like a young hoon in the driver's seat.

Say's "come violate me without lube" to the coppers all day everyday LOL

Please come up to Tbar and give me my ride before you lose your license.....

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
