Sanding / Restoring R34 Vspec 2 Pedals

Hey guys,

I'm just wondering if anyone has sanded back or some how restored their R34 Vspec 2 aluminium pedals?

Mine has scratches all over it and it looks really old.

polish them?

They have some fairly deep scratches that won't polish out lol, that's why I thought about sanding them, but not sure if they have some sort of paint/clear coat on them that I'd ruin by sanding.

shouldnt.. although i've never seen them..

just sand back the high points..

bog up the deep marks with aluminium filler..

sand flat..

polish..

???
